I just hired it 2 days to ago and i'm playing it here in New Zealand on a crappy 10 inch tv.... And although I absolutely agree that the camera sucks and the "unblockable" grabs are gay...

I'm playing it on Warrior level and I'm on the last bit in the Lychantropes (spelling) Castle level.. And to be honest Warrior level is not that hard people, I had a bit of trouble so far getting past Genshin, and a couple of other retry's but overall it isn't that hard...

Theres an easy way to do it, dunno if u did it like this or not... to kill the 2nd stage of the final boss all u do is shoot his head and then shoot his big orb when it lights up. Its so much easier this way than to shoot his head only. I made that mistake and was ripping my hair out. but if u shoot his orb after u shoot his head it takes alot of his health.

oh and to kill the first stage just use the double swords and use the up + y attack where he spins and jumps with the swords. if u can get close to him i killed him really quick using that attack.

No I was talking about the very final one but thanks for trying to help. Tips would be helpful though when trying to beat him on higher difficulties.

My tip for anyone would be to be extra patient with this one, he's just annoying and takes ages to kill.

That's because you're hardcore Viginti, everyone who's crying needs to go play Ninja Dog cause they've totally been identified as casual gamers. Everyone knows that if you can see how poorly designed Ninja Gaiden's AI and difficulty structure is, that you are automatically confined to this category of sub-awesome-gamer. Even bringing up the games potential flaws brings your apparent failing as a gamer to light, and honestly, you should all probably just quit gaming all together, or go play GTGAY or Prince of Puppies.

That's certainly NOT what I was shooting at. People should see the game for what it is and not for what they think it should be.

I think it's fun to learn new thing from a game, I played NGB for so long and never actually played to even half it's potential but it was fun learning it. Same for NG 2. Half the fun for me is learning the moves and strategies, it feels really oldschool to me not a brainless hack away game where you learn everything you need to learn within 30 mins. The game is designed to have patterns, then ofcourse the "AI" is not intelligent. For me NG is like guitar hero, you learn patterns and get better at it just with the added difficulty that the patterns vary very often. That's just how the game plays out. If you're not a fan of that kind of games then NG clearly isn't for you. That's the reason NG doesn't have freefrom combos.

For me cheap means unavoidable, but that's clearly not the case. When someone does a flying swallow into the middle of a group of black ninjas then it's no wonder he gets instandly grabbed when Ryu has done his move. The only cheap moments are created outside of the camera view (and yes the camera IS bad, there is no excuse), it's an annoyance and for a new player a major one (since you can't learn the patterns when you can't see them). The game lacks polish in that department, the gameplay has been polished to perfection but they ruined it with the camera.

I don't think I'm awesome..not even a little. When someone calls me "casual" and implies I'm a noob simply because I've pointed out flaws with a game, I take offense. If that person also compares his experience playing on acolyte to other people's experience playing on warrior, it makes it that much more annoying.

You can use your dual-swords' attack where you rotate the stick 360. If you do this when the boss is hanging on the edge, you'll avoid most of its attacks while dealing a decent amount of damage.

yeah...it actually is for some enemies and areas, no matter how good you claim to be. for example, the areas with the acid stuff on the ground (i know it only takes i tiny bit of lives) but you still have to run thru it, its literally unavoidable to be hurt at those parts, even if its only a little.

another example that i can remember is the water boss, he has an attack where he grabs you with his long arm thing, and no matter where u are he can reach you. you cant dodge it and you cant block it, so i would call that "unavoidable."

I'm playing on Acolyte and I totally suck at this game. I've had my ass handed to me countless times by bosses and I think I may have died twice by regular enemies. So far I've encountered two glitches in the game where the boss's AI broke and they just stood still and let me kill them; probably out of pity :) I'm currently on the snow level with the dreaded rocket ninjas and I usually just use the falcon's talons as my main weapon since it seems to be the best for button mashing, which I do excessively (plus the XXYYY combo usually ends with an ultimate technique).

As a God of War fanboy, I really wish they'd stick to static cameras - or at least give the option to pull the camera back a little further... this isn't a third person shooter; we don't need the camera right behind Ryu's shoulder.

OK this game is seriously pissing me off!!!! Enemies that grab you mid combo ????? WTF ?????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Damn you itagaki that's all I gotta say ..... this is beyond frustrating! so what now, do I have to press two hits dodge, dodge dodge then another two hits dodge dodge dodge another 2 hits .......

This is not Ninja Gaiden this is Frustration Gaiden! the original wasnt like this ....

This game is seriously unbalanced ..... Enemies are togher than all bosses and I am on chapter 14 which is the last one. Beat all bosses first try ... they messed up the bosses and screwed up enemy encounters .... basically turned the whole thing upside down ....

But yeah, the game is unbalanced in terms of gameplay mechanics.
Its not the same as the first one.

Enemies can grab you or stick a incendiary shuriken during a combo and even a Izuna Drop in the air which is shit.

I for one am playing it for fun but because the gameplay or the visuals won't change drastically to something I like if I beat Mentor or MN.

I know about the water gun even with that, they grab you from the back and then one after the other and you cant even escape!!!!

I killed the turtles on the second try but I could barely see anything! I know I should hit them in the head duh!

The horses in the first ninja gaiden were the only frustrating bit about the game and I almost slammed the controller when I saw them again in NG2 - I hate their stupid guts!!!

The Fishes are easy to kill...Vigoorian Flail, use the old NG technique...XXXX jump, and continue.
They won't come after you after a certain combo animation.

If under water, pick lunar and keep abusing the Y button, simple, they wont touch you.

Turtles...Lunal lvl2 or lvl3...XXY...works perfectly for almost all enemies and bosses. ALOT of damage than usual.
Use that combo against those turtles on their heads and they get stunned, keep doing it and you are good...watch out for the grab, that pisses me off the most.

Those minotaurs (spelling?) they are like another version of those ninjas on horses on NG1, but they are bit tougher.
They got projectiles now.

Use the same lunar combo or keep TDS for YYYYYY and it will work.
Takes time, yes, but it will work.

Were there even centaurs in NG1? I don't remember that at ALL.

Use your scythe on them. Your ultimate technique will level them in one hit, and you'll often be able to take 2 or 3 out in one go.

Yeah the first set of them were ok to deal with but now I am on chapter 14 right before the fight with Genshin and Elizebet. I got past them the first time running and defeated Genshin but then Elizebet kept kicking my a** When I returned later to the game I had to load it up again and i had to get pas the fish again but they keep catching me everytime and then it's one after the other until I die .... SO FRUSTRATING when you get grabbed from the back ....

I never tried it, but what happens if you start to water run and keep pressing X or something. I know while wielding the dragon sword or the dual swords you can stay on the surface by pressing X and you'll continually attack. I wonder if it would be enough to stop them from at least grabbing you.

If I had to put money on it though, considering how the rest of the game's enemies can grab you mid-combo, I'd bet against pressing X working.

Ladies and Gentlemen, you get an achievement of 5 Points when you continue 100 times after dying obviously 100 times!

Yup that's right!

This pretty much sums up the design philosophy behind this game, Itagaki is basically saying "I want you to Die at least 100 Times" Way to go IDIOT!
