Basically some people are patient and others are not but believe me when I tell you: I dont know how those do it .... I tried so hard to be patient with the game but it's numerous cheap moments are just FAR BEYOND acceptable.

Anyway, I finished the game and well done for the Final 5 Bosses. For once they did something right, The 5 bosses of Chapter 14 Were very well balanced I thought and quite challenging but not in a cheap way.

The game is no more than a 7 for me. It had its moments but it pissed all over them with Cheap AI, unbalanced difficulty in various parts, a worse camera than NG, abscence of Team Ninja's Signature CG cutscenes (what's up with that, I was expecting at least one for the ending) - All in all, worth the money that's for sure but it's clear: This game is aimed at those who played Ninja Gaiden before, new comers will really have a hard time, the game is definately not very accessible or inviting.

SATH, I need your help. How do I unlock the test of valor ? know i need to get something called the rod of trials ?? how do I get that ? I am about to start the game again on Mentor for the achievements and I need to make sure I get it. I will also go through the beat the game with ONE weapon challenges as well.

How do I unlock the test of valor ?

** Spoilers may be below (how do you work spoiler tags?):

In Chapter 2, in the large outdoor area that has the room where you get the Falcon's Talons, you will face several waves of ninjas. Stay in the outside area and wipe them all out and you will eventually be informed that a candle has been lit. Head towards the lit torch and hop the fence and its right there on the alter.
Note that the waves of ninjas may not appear until after you get the Falcon's Talons... they are in the area right outside the hut where the weapon resides.

Thanks Man. The weird thing is that I wiped up all enemies in that area on my first play through but I did kill some enemies on the stairs. Do you have to stay in the square and not move from there at all for it to appear ? If this is the case, then it's another STUPID design decision.

Not exactly. I happened to run up the stairs towards the next area to take out some archers then ran back to the area to kill some stragglers. After you kill the first waves they come at you one by one - if you kill all of these it lights... I think you must be in the area to get the one by one waves to come at you though - luckily I was eating food and playing at the same time so I was moving slow enough for the one by one waves to appear :)

I just beaten Mentor, oh fuck yeah!

There is NO fucking way I am going on MN now, not this early anyways.
Maybe in a few weeks, but now I want to feel bad ass, so I will play with all my weapons maxed on from beginning on Acolyte :P

But anyway, my impressions on Mentor...same as always but double the damage you get from the enemies, and tons of more Incendiary Shurikens and enemies at once...thats Mentor.

Those who say you are a noob or the enemies are predictble?
Seriously, stop playing on Acolyte or Warrior, try Mentor and see how it feels to get raped.

I just can't imagine how Master Ninja is gonna be like, not soon anyways.

Ps. Jaguar outfit is so damn ugly, all patterns are except the default one which is starting to bore me.

I'm actually kind of enjoying the green costume. I would have preferred that the gauntlet/wrist guard things he's wearing were the same yellow as the shin guards though.

I'm growing to like the red costume. I hope they reveal the 2 other DLC costumes soon.

I am on my second playthrough now - still on Warrior, going for the Test of Valors and the complete one game with one weapon achievements.

So far, I am enjoying the game A LOT LOT better than the first time and it's surprisingly a much better game now :D AI is still cheap, mind you, but once you know your way around it, the game hits a new level of fun :D

Anyway, A few tips for those who didnt know - It's about how to increase your total Karma to climb the leader board.

1. Obliterate bosses and you get 200k Karma points per boss! (NOT all bosses are obliterable obviously)

2. Counter and obliterate straight away, you get 3000 Karma points for an instant kill + 3000 for Obliteration and that's PER enemy.

3. killings enemies quickly one after another gives HUGE amounts of Karma points when it's a killing spree.

4. FORGET the ultimate technique if you're going for Karma points! you get 3000 on the first level of UT and 5000 for the second level but the UT kills several enemies so you lose all the above bonuses.

I discovered the above on my 2nd play through and though I would share it with everyone here :D

My karma total is more than what I had the first time around and I am only on chapter 10 when I followed the above.

Yes there is new ways to get karma but to be honest I don't really care about karma points.

I have only played 3 of the first levels now on warrior. Game has been great so far.
