Well, after that I have to say that NG2 is toally depressing technically speaking.......in fact, Tecmo/Team Ninja have been a total failure this generation in terms of graphics. It is surprising because last gen, DOA3 was the second best looking fighting game last gen........second to DOA4, and that released at launch if I'm correct.

Needless to say, NG was a masterpiece, very few if anything came close to it.

Oh well, let's just say it hasn't been TN's generation.

^^^^^by the end of the day is it worth it?

especially when game development cost $10 million

i think TN measured whether make a game with advanced graphics or simple upgrade when game sells will be the same ragardless, why spend so much with same result. its pretty given that the people who liked the first are the one who by the 2nd one, Ng is not likely to expand the audiance

I'm definitely glad I'm satisfied with how a lot of console games look. The last thing I want right now is a new console; there's still much to be done with what we have.

The thing is that technology is changing so fast that they'll get outdated soon, oh wait thats already happened. :p

yeah PC is already the most powerful, theres no game on any console that matches the gfx on Crysis, not even Far Cry 2. which kinda sucks tho, because Ill never have the $2-$3000 to spend on a PC that can run Crysis or games that need that much power with full detail.

funny how it seems like 360 and PS3 just came out and now im already thinking that a newer gen console is due out soon.

My current PC certainly isn't good enough to run new games on their highest settings, but I still enjoy COD4 quite a bit more on the PC than I would if I was playing the console version. The notebook I intend to purchase this fall should be Crysis capable--maybe not on its highest settings but that's not really a big deal--it will still max out just about every other game.

Come next spring I'll probably spring for new desktop components, but I could easily see pushing a desktop past console-like performance for under $1000 if you're not springing for every little component. It's especially possible now that the 8800GTS (G92) has come down in price and availability and the 9600GT is out and about for under $150.

2010 seems like a good time to start thinking about the next Xbox though. I may not adopt as early as I have in the past, but five years seems like a fair run. I just hope they give us full backwards compatibility, including w/ DRM content.

Frankly speaking TN is the 2nd best japanese developer out there. Capcom is raping everyone though.

They should release a console every 3-4 years IMO. Make it affordable and not overpriced. That'll be fine by me!

Whoa, they better not! Games take about that much to develop at times (especially new AAA franchises), that would piss me off.

Phil Harrison said next-gen you'll see less and less high-budget games. Its costing developers way too much money, and as they say, time is money.

Console games aren't outdated if you aren't a PC gamer because nothing beats them.

I'm talking about technology here, it changes too quickly, and when you look at everything around including the consoles, they do get outdated. But, yea, I know what you mean.

For those who are a fan of the first Ng and loved to get a REAL challenge all I say is...the fiend Ryu (evil Ryu) is back!

Same fiend that showed up on harder difficaulties and looked like Ryu himself, he is gonna be in NG2, and this is one of the best news I have heard.

Best enemy in the game too.

dude, thank you for being like the only person who agrees with me. The DOA games have always blown me away with their gfx, starting with DOA2 on Dreamcast and NG for Xbox looked freakin amazing. So I was thinking like well if they can do that on Xbox hardware, NG2 and DOA4 should have damn near CGI quality gfx using xbox 360's hardware. I guess I was assuming since Xbox360 is however many times more powerful than Xbox, these new sequels to Xbox games should look that many times better. But instead its only like small gfx upgrades here and there. Im not a developer so i dont know but yeh like you said...kinda disappointing.
