Since 7359 DaysI think since Itagaki left Tecmo, the quality of NG2 reflects on how development was. I read that the president was focusing too much on profit rather than quality, which could explain the technical deficiencies this game has (lots of money required there), and I suppose that Itagaki wasn't motivated enough after not being paid like he said. Oh well.

The 2 top ones are my favorite, while the first outfit looks THE best one out of the bunch and will start using it all the time :D

Considering I called there before he knew my name, and I said that I really want this game as early as possible because I am a huge fan of this game, and he laughed and said "yeah its amazing how good this game is".

Since 7237 DaysI'm sure Itagaki thinks it's the best thing to happen to anyone ever though.
Since 7103 DaysSure there are complainings and such, and 8s are reasonable, because in my book, 8 is great score.
But the thing is, I don't go off scores, I go off what they have to say about it.
For example I played ALL the NG titles up to date (except Dragon Sword, dont have DS)...so I know every single detailed that is changed from the previous till NG2 (obviously since 3rd version started from Xbox).
Camera issue has been there since day one, those who can actually play the game properly, knows how to handle the camera, but considering it is a sequal, you expect better camera.
Graphics for NG2 could be better and be actually 720p native at most.
However, with all the small graphical touches, from NG Sigma it makes it looks very very good (unless you are a graphic whore).
Difficaulty...ah, this is the part that is ridiculous to read by them.
Since NG on Xbox everyone who heard abouot NG would know how hard the game is, and knowing Itagaki, they should have known that NG2s difficaulty won't change, maybe escalade to harder.
The only thing I notice alot of gamesites are complaining about is camera and difficaulty, and I agree on camera but difficaulty is something that depends on the players.
Ninja Gaidens motto has always been in terms of gameplay "easy to play, hard to master".
If you can't keep up don't step up, meaning go with Easy or Normal, don't try harder difficaulties unless you are ready to get frustuated and have mastered the gameplay.
And about the bosses, I don't understand the whole "there is no tutorial to beat find out their weakness"
That part is hilarious because they seem to forget what NG played like :S
Ninja Gaiden on Xbox NEVER gave you any hints whatsoever about the bosses or the enemies their weaknesses.
You had to find out about them yourself. You had to keep switching weapons that fits your playing style and just keep locating that "sweetspot" on the bosses.
That is so great about the game that I enjoy.
I like to find out how to beat them by my own without any guide or some visual effect showing "hit here" or whatever.
I like to choose the weapon I am comfortable with and then experiment all the attacks on them, and then when I finally realize how to beat them, it is still difficault to do so of how hard the AI is, so you gotta keep changing your tactics.

Since 7167 DaysOn the graphics side, I do indeed agree with the reviews, there honestly hasnt been too much improvement. dont get me wrong, the game still looks fantastic but it didnt wow me the way NG on the xbox 1 did.
Gameplay, however has definately evolved from the previous game. The combat system is BRILLIANT! fast paced and just INSANE.

Since 7103 DaysBut here, I even remember reading in a interview that Itagaki said, the first thing they do is to work on Ryus animation.
It seems that Itagaki is more of a hardcore gameplay guy first, graphics second these days.
Sure it was great to see NG on Xbox at that time, but these days you get to see so many "next-gen" titles with great and bad graphics that its difficault to compete and make it stand out in visuals.
For me, I loved how NG Sigma looked, its because my standards are not too high like others. If the gameplay holds up and it still looks great in motion, I am all for it.
And this is the case for NG2.
Blood splatter is everywhere, limbs getting cut off so much that it feels like I am watching a hidden scene from Kill Bill but with colors included.
The scene were Beatrix is in Tokyo in that resturant were hordes of enemies come at her and she starts cutting them off, this feature in NG2 reminds me of that.
And small touches, like cool fluid visual effects when Ryu charges up the UT move, or the new awesome ninpos with sanrkit on them...etc. these types of things are what makes NG for me a great game.
No guide for the bosses, your way to take them out however you want.
Great visuals and detailed aftertouches.
Amazing animation.
Fantastic combat.
Brilliant music score.
Fast and and tons of blood that each kill is gonna make you a worthy warrior.
Different difficaulties that suits everyone (to some limit)
Those things I listed is what makes NG the best title I ever played, period.
No wonder I played NG title since launch and other versions of it (including NG Sigma) until now, just love it.
Cons:
camera can (mostly not) get your sight blinded. But that is mostly on bosses on small arenas.
Yes, that is my "cons" list.
The difficaulty is something you have to blame yourself.
If you can't master the combat, there is no point going up on higher ranks.
Just because you get "Greater Ninja" or "Master Ninja" on chapters, doesn't mean anything, unless it was on Very Hard or Master Ninja mode.
