Loakum Ugh….scratch that previous comment. The upcoming Game of Thrones video game is a F’in mobile phone game. Why can’t they came an open world GoT game, like Witcher 3 or God of War? (> 3 Months ago)
Loakum By FAR, the upcoming Game of Thrones King’s Road was the Game of the Show! It plays like God of War Ragnarok! :) (> 3 Months ago)

My friend showed me some Basara 2 footage and there is this guy called "Kojuro" with a katana and lightning element, absolutely awesome, and it seems he is in this game as well (not in the gameplay).
This is for PS3/Wii, Capcom announced during TGS that it is coming to US as well, if its not coming to EU, I will definitely import it, looks fantastic.
Sure it has the DW style, but I played 2 a bit and Basara games are MUCH more polished in the combat area and visuals so I am definitely looking forward to see more, but so far its great and seems to be a solid purchase for me.
The only thing missing from Capcom is they announce Onimusha 5 then it would be heaven for me with these type of titles :D
Here is the site http://www.capcom.co.jp/basara3/main.html
Epic music, I love it (except the rock instrumental part)!
Gameplay, looks fantastic! (where is my Kojuro!)

I can't wait to buy this game, looks and plays fantastic (if you have played previous titles you know what to expect)...mindless exagerated combo-based hack and slash for any hack and slash fan.
The combat is amazingly polished compared to the crappy KOEI games, but its Capcom so they know their stuff.
I will definitely specialize myself with Mitsunori Ishida.
Sure, shitty design, but he badass moves and incredibly stylish and fast with his Iaido style with his katana.
Only problem, big problem, I have is that Kojuro isn't in it :(
Best friend of Date I am shocked he isnt playable which pisses me off, he has a katana with lightning powers! and his design is awesome.
Anyone who loves combo-based hack and slash games going against hordes doing exagerated attacks, this one is definitely a title to pick up.
I hope the western versions have Japanese audio because these type of games must be heard with Japanese voices, they got more "umph" to the attacks, though the english voices arent that bad so its all good.
This is him, a mercenary ninja, I love his smoke effect when he teleports (from Basara 2 PS2)

I played enough of these type of games but sadly non of them was for me except for this franchise.
I tried DW Strikeforce demo and it was bad because the connection between your attacks and weapons going at the enemy was horrible, there was no proper "umph" or "punch" to it, felt floaty, just bad.
But with this franchise you really sense a weighty and punchy feel with each attack, and I like brainless hack and slash that has exageration to it when its done right...the reason why I havent bought any or talked about any other is because there havent been made a great one as of yet except N3 and Basara series for next-gen.
My friend who only played these type of games as well as NG, DMC...etc. is as much as a fan as me and he said Basara series is the best one in the genre because of how polished it is.
He has Basara 2 and he said when he is in mood for brainless crazy combos he plays it...all characters has up to 99 levels to upgrades (if I remember it right) so it has alot of playtime.
Besides, these titles are in action/adventure games as well. Some are brainless some are more focused like NG, DMC, Bayonetta.
He pretty much said that if someone loves the genre and going at hordes of enemies and want the most polished combat with exagerated moves Basara is a safe bet and I trust him because I played Basara 2 on a emulator and it felt like shockingly polished...like NG + Bayonetta so I know exactly what to expect in combat department with this new one.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xyy1Uzrh0ls
Shows new moves and 3-4 new characters, glimpses but nontheless. One of them being Fuma Kotaro
Will watch all your videos!!
:P
FROM THE DARKNESS I DRAW MY STRENGTH!!
Will watch all your videos!!
:P
Dont think it plays like Dynasty Warriors though because it is like that except you kill everyone in sight but other than that its nothing like that.
Combat and controls are extremely polished for such a style.
Imagine this, NG + DMC + hordes + exageration = Sengoku Basara.
Japan gets it in July, so I hope Capcom releases a pre-release demo on PS3 :)
So take my word for it, combat is definitely on par with some of the best out there, but it all depends if you like the 1 man army stuff and taking out hordes.
It will be an actual story mode?
FROM THE DARKNESS I DRAW MY STRENGTH!!
And there is a story, each character having various story going, rivals...etc. unlike N3 when all characters are in one full situation.
I am sure you played N3 and Dynasty Warriors...right?
If so, do not judge their combat for Basara, rent it when it comes out (unless there is a demo) and try it out. If you enjoyed the combat then you know what to expect from the combat department.
I have played DW 6 and Strikeforce and N3...and they were alright.
But when I played the short minutes of Basara 2 on PS2 it felt like every other company that wants to make 1-man-army take note what Capcom did and copy the combat, its that polish and responsive.
Good thing is that Basara 2 has 99 level cap for each character (if I remember right thats the cap). So you unlock new moves, alternate outfits, strengthen your character with speed and power and their weapons...etc.
And this game has 2 player online co-op (i think offline as well but I am not sure).
I know it feels like I am turning the game into the perfection, but it truly is THE best one when it comes to this type of game, second best is N3 and last is all the DW games.
If you trust me in this genre then trust me when I say that if you enjoy a much more exagerated attacks and specials moves you see in DMC or NG then this is like that.
But if mindless hack and slash isnt your thing then its going to be a problem.
I for one I am VERY pissed Kojuro isnt in this as a playable but is a NPC, really annoying.
But Ishida seems to play fanastically to my dream. Incredible Iaido speed like you see in crazy anime sword fights and then quickly puts the sword back to its sheath.
I am sure I am going to spend ALOT of time with this game just hacking enemies and see awesome moves.
PS. There is story mode, but I would expect a Survival mode, time attack, training, versus...etc. as well. Survival Mode seems to be my type of "mission mode". Hordes keeps coming until you die :D
Also the music is fantastic...atleast the one in Mitsunari Ishida's trailer and the music in the official site.
Basara series has a mix of symphony and a bit rock instrumental, sometimes combined sometimes mixed...like NG :)
Will give it a chance, seing I liked N3 and this like you say its more awesome I think I will like it.
FROM THE DARKNESS I DRAW MY STRENGTH!!
I owe it to my friend though. He loves NG as much as I do and the genre and he has even played games in this genre from Japan that isnt even released in the west, so he has alot of experience so I trust him.
He said if you arent into DW type gameplay then you will get bored, but if you like it from time to time or like it in general, Basara is the one to pick up.
The thing is that I enjoy feudal Japan because of the katanas, myths, samurais, ninjas, legends, beautiful settings and buildings...etc. and add surreal stuff like powers, exagerated moves, demons...etc. and its perfect for me.
BTW. each character has 2 styles that you can switch any time with a press of a button, but the characters only have one type/design...but the amount of freeform in the combat and how well it is makes up for it.
For example I have watched Mitsunari Ishida's gameplay like 10 times now (no not in row :) and I am still not bored of seeing the moves, the reason being because how flashy and exagerated animations and attacks are.
Not only him, but everyone else as well, but I am a sword/katana guys so I prefer characters with that.
Too bad the design for Ishida is fugly though, he should have looked more like a Ronin type.
BTW I totally forgot.
Date, the guy with 6 swords and blue outfit...I like his design WITHOUT his helmet. My friend said he has a alternate costume were he doesnt have the helmet, if they add that one in Basara 3 then I will definitely pick Date as my main as well LOL
This how he it looks like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hr_5VKcgwY
Clear shot http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/8236/sengokustrai... (just imagine him wearing the armor) thats Kojuro behind him :D
Anyways, hoping for alternate outfit for Date in Basara 3 LOL
This is the anime http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ySPf1RDau1g I really need to get back and watch it, watch those exagerate super attack!

I dont like such music, but its to be expected for anime/managa intros in most of them anyways and Basara which is a game as well is not surprise, but good to know the game music is better LOL
Anyways, its released on July 29 in Japan for PS3/Wii and Fall in EU/US.
I so cant wait!
Opening movie 2 - alternate BGM 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BauLXoAKD3A
Fantastic music, can't wait.
Check out this guy:
Haha :D
And this ludicrously huge spear thing:
I often feel like japanese weirdness gets kicked to the curb by the "global appeal" thing, but they still come out sometimes with some proper silly awesomeness and remind me that the stuff of "Ouendan" and things like that still lives on.
DW is definitely a bit goofy too, but nothing quite as colourful and extravagant as this. Of course they both crumble under the BLAST of mental that was God Hand.
http://www.twitter.com/simonlundmark - Follow me on twitter
Goofyness, Basara got some of that going on for sure...its weird but its there to the fans, mostly in Japan.
But God Hand is like the Duke Dukem for Japan, atleast thats how I see it anyways.
I just wish before release or close to release Capcom releases Basara 3 demo on JP PSN, I would love to play that, keep myself occupied until the retail hits the west later on this year.

God I cant wait any longer to get my hands on this game!
Please Capcom release a demo on Japanese PSN, it is E3 and it is coming out end of next month!
Drama aside :P
Kotaro looks and and seems to play awesome!
About Magoichi, I was skeptical because he had western weapons like guns, but after seeing it more I am starting to like it more, very unique playstyle.
PS. Magoichi is hot! (Raptor flu :P)
I will play it every day in hours until I hav the retail in my hands!
Japan gets it in July 29th, us outside of Japan have to wait until Autumn.
But that shouldnt stop from a demo from happening though, this is CAPCOM after all!
Haha :D
Okay so clearly this is a must have.
http://www.twitter.com/simonlundmark - Follow me on twitter
But they have REALLY gimped it from Basara 2, especially the playable rosters :(
I for one am now mixed bag about this. I might not buy it, knowing there are alot of games I intent to get this year I dont have this title higher than the others.
But I will see what happens :)
Also, I read that the western release date is going to be announce in the end of this month when its out in Japan.
Demo please :)
