Loakum Ugh….scratch that previous comment. The upcoming Game of Thrones video game is a F’in mobile phone game. Why can’t they came an open world GoT game, like Witcher 3 or God of War? (> 3 Months ago)

All games get old at some point, I am sure I will get bored of this at some point, but I know this is a game were I can come back to let steam out and just enjoy watching those flashy moves.
These type of games arent for everyone, but considering i am a action lover for this type of stuff its a awesome title.
The good thing is that you can upgrade ALL characters up to Level 99 (so i read), so the more you upgrade the more special moves you get, alternate moves, unique moves, weapons...etc.
I can't wait for October, so annoyed that there is no demo yet, even if it is on JP PSN :(
The easiest way of comparing the game to is Devil May Cry combat with Dynasty Warriors level design.
Kobayashi is behind the DMC series anyways so the combat is definitely bound to be super polished and flashy.
The controls are easy.
You got medium attacks and heavy attacks, the heavy attacks works like a flashy attack, but depending on what direction button you press and the heavy attack they do different things.
As you level up (level cap is 99) you keep getting new weapon models, enhancements and new special moves which you can do by pressing both attack buttons and they do something or hold the block button and press the special attack to do a signature move.
Aside from those, you can mix and match anyway you like thats when it becomes awesome, I surprisingly made some combos that made me go crazy and I had to learn what I did :)
Then are are these "SUPER" and "HERO" attacks, super attack is when your blue bar is filled and they will unleash hell upon the enemies thats the most awesome thing in this game, and Hero attack is basically they will unleash some sort of a explosion around them and turn everything into slowmotion and all you have to do is do as many combos as possible.
One thing that is super fun is seeing the combo counter go up.
I have only played with Ishida (the fast swordsman with weird white hair), Saika (the red hair girl with guns) and Ieysu (the guy who punches all the time) and out of all them, Saika is the only one that I made it through Super Fever (basically like DMC's SSS rank in combo). I got around 1700 combos from regular attacks to Hero time and then to Super attacks LOL she is a beast with the guns.
One awesome move she has is she will do a roundkick and launch everybody in the air and then she will quickly lay on the floor and start shooting like crazy with her machinegun and juggle the enemies in the air and then she uses one of her hands to get up like she breakdances while she is getting up she does a 360 and shooting at the same time.
The final move after that she lowers her body and start shooting again with the machine gun and then you can aim her shots...that is freaking badass considering all that is in a combo YOU have to press!
One move I love is from Ishida.
Basically its his frontal flash sweep.
He stands still and kind of looks like he is about to passout so he leans to left but all of a sudden he runs like flash and his body vanishes and all you see is black and purple stripes, meaning thats his body and his sword slashing. He does a half circle sweep infront of him, thats pretty cool.
Its easy to level up in this game...so far. I dont know how much more time there is going to take the more level I go up, so far I have level 16-17 on 3 characters.
The missions are simple, you go through the level and take out enemy bases, each mission has a boss which is basically a main character from the Basara series, some NPCs that was playable in Basara 2 and some PCs.
Now I am playing the japanese version of the Wii so I dont know the menu or items very much, but I figured there is Campaign, Free Mode (play any mission you want with any character and level them up), Extra Mode which is basically gallery, cutscenes, history, music...etc.
Player two can jump in during character selection but I havent tried that and dont intend to, atleast not on Dolphin.
The game runs like 25fps with a miracle up to 40fps. I am not having the best experience considering its low res, slow framerate, japanese titles that I cant understand anything.
But this is like say a "rental" or a big "demo" if you will until I get my hands on the PS3, then thats when the real experience begins.
As a fan of the hack and slash genre this is a dream of seeing exagerated moves you usually see in anime and it being in historic settings and have that "fantasy" look at the same time (no monsters or demons though) and how well polished the combat looks and feels is just fantastic.
Anyone saying Koei games are better than this is highly misstaking. If anyone has a Wii or PS3 and love the genre I stronly recommend buying this game as I am.
But yeah the game is definitely a 9/10 for me.
PS.
One awesome feature in the game is when you and a NPC starts to fight and your weapons starts to clash against eachother.
This move is often in cutscenes and never in gameplay. Basically when you attack and the enemy is about to attack as well both of the weapons will start hitting eachother and create a flashy visual effect and have dust and sound wave look hitting out.
The more quicker you press the normal attack the faster both characters will do it so it because very fast, within seconds you are prompted to a small QTE with a bar. You have to press the same button as fast as possible and charge the bar, who ever resists more gets the hit, a very cool feature, I love it.
Thanks for those impression though I dont have a PS3 when I get one in the holidays this game will be very on top of my list!!
FROM THE DARKNESS I DRAW MY STRENGTH!!

I read that to unlock Kotaro (ninja with red face paint) I have to finish the Story Mode with Yukimura (red jacket dude). So I am doing just that :)

The difficulty is a bit mixed here.
Japanese version: Normal, Hard, Very Hard
English: Easy, Normal, Hard
Thats what has been said about the two versions.
I think I am playing on Normal right now, can't tell considering its Japanese.
One thing I did notice is that you arent even close of dying so I dont know, the AI doesnt do anything unless its a brute sized enemy with a big weapons they do stuff.
I do wish the enemies was harder though, that they would attack much more.
IMO you shouldnt have picked Saika as your first, she is a long range character with guns LOL
The fun part of this genre is hack and slash, melee weapons like swords. I would say pick Mitsunari Ishida, he is super fast and awesome. But the more you rank up the characters the more various weapon types and enhancements you get and aside from the normal 4 specials skills, you can unlock 3 more specials skills but you can only pick one asigned to the button.
The game is coming out in US/EU October 15th.
I haven't tried co-op but i will on the PS3.
My little cousin keeps nagging he wants to play as well but I have no games that are appropriate for his age, so this game is good. Any button he presses he will do something awesome so he will feel powerful :)
PS. This is how co-op looks like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYpal01PyOA

Whatever you pick as "add ons" after you pick a weapon you see the numbers going from white meaning no change at all, to blue which means its more powerful to red which is lower. Think of RPGs.
I know that the red animal shape to right is pretty high but I dont know which 3 bars do that, so I try and find whatever with highest numbers LOL.
Also, you can have either a NPC or a army behind you, you have to fight a NPC to unlock their "help", once you do they will aid you.
And when you use Basara time (blue bar filled) they will use their own Basara skill as well to help you out.
One thing I dont know is going on is the 3 section during mission briefing. You basically get these weird items like animals, food...etc. but you can convert them into something so you loose coins or something. I usually do it for the sake of it being random for me LOL.
Besides, if you do get different types of weapons, make sure to see a symbol beneath the weapon.
For example some weapons you unlock might not have high stats than previous, but IF they do have a image of a something that means the weapon wields enhancements.
For example Masamune Date, the blue guy with 6 swords, his element in lightning.
I have unlocked weapons thats arent samurai katanas, nor are they more powerful. However below the image of the sword there is a small lightning image.
I tried that and what that does is it increases the chances of you electricfying your enemies.
Saika is short range yes, but once you unlock grenades, rocketlaunchers and machineguns then its long range.
She has a awesome Basara skill though, throws multiple weapons in the air and starts shooting crazy.
Anyways, flashy, fast and exageration FTW, Capcom knows how to do it :)
PS. At first its easy to level up with 4-6 levels, but the more you level up the harder it gets later on. So you need to grind your ass off in Free Mode (main menu, second option).

I for one am going to keep playing it until October when I can buy the PS3 version.
This way I know what to do, how controls and gameplay works...etc. so its just to re-do it...and I dont mind that, its tons of fun for me.
Though there is alot of weapon variety for each character so I am excited to see what more there is, too bad outfits couldnt be the same, there is only one alternate.
Check this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dNdc_U1PBe4
On Wii there is a "cheat" were you can play all the main NPCs!
Fans been dissapointed how Basara 2 had like around 30 characters all playable, but in Basara 3 its only 16. But this video is a way to make that happen, now I dont know if its a hack or a cheat, I hope its a cheat and I hope you can do that on PS3 version as well.
On time 4:10 there is Kojuro, my absolute favorite character in the series, I was introduced to him in Basara 2, main element is lightning and katana, badass stuff!
I would be super happy if I can play as him in Basara 3 "in a way", be it on Wii or PS3.
