I've heard Thief is really good. Can anyone recommend? Would I have needed to play the first two Thief games to understand/appreciate this one?

Nah, you could play this one, but the first two are better games. A little more dated, but a lot better. That said, it's not bad.

Yeah the first two are better but Deadly Shadows is still great, and Shalebridge Cradle is a magnificently crafted level.

Got Titan Quest. I'm annoyed that you can't change screen resolution without restarting the game. That's one of my pet peeves. Truly aggravating!

I like to play these types of games in a window if I have active chat windows open, so it would be nice to be able to play in a window at a lower resolution and switch to full screen @ full res without restarting. It's not a deal breaker but it still is something that totally gets on my nerves. I wish every game supported maximized window modes so I could just play it full screen on my monitor and access my cintiq without minimizing the game.

That dern Madballs game; makes my video card heat up like hell.
I decided to wait until after the summer months for that.

It was pretty good playing though.
Spot on controls.


About Thief 3, I wonder if it has problems on Windows 7.

There are multiple posts in that thread saying that it works fine in Win7x64, so I'm not really sure what to believe. Sounds buggy.

I've had pretty good luck with older games so far I guess. So far I haven't encountered any real compatibility issues with Windows 7.

Thief 3 definitely does not like Aero on Win7x64, easily rectified with the Compatibility tab on the EXE. FOV fix and texture packs are recommended though.

I also would recommend NOT buying Saints Row 2, it´s one of the worst console to pc ports I´ve EVER seen...

You know, if I hadn't heard that about Saints Row 2 a hundred times already, I would have bought it.
I really want to check it out.

I've had zero problems with games older than that as well but, I'm not about to waste even fifty cents on something that hasn't been made compatible by the dev's or whoever.
