Sweet. L4D is going to own. Valve is also looking to retroactively adopt its party system into previous Source releases. TF2 + parties, etc.

That's cool. TF2 is just really funny game. I mean there is just something about the characters and the graphics that make me play it with stupid grin on my face.

L4D is going to be great with all the updates and stuff. It's really good way to go back play older games when there is something new on them.

just got x-com apocalypse, runs very well. i didnt get ufo-deffense, well not yet, altho its probably my fav all time game. (but ohh boy do the graphics look bad :P)

What I find strange is why isn't Quake 4 on Steam?

Even in retail that game is virtually impossible to find.. Only one I've found is the Xbox 360 version, but I need to find a PC version for a friend of mine (as sharing keys online is not really handy)..

Yeah it's strange that Quake 4 isn't on Steam. One thing I hate about Steam (and some other services too) is that new games are more expensive than boxed copies from stores... oh well at least there is some good games on sale's sometimes.

From what I understand.. Crysis is sort of an exception, and we shouldn't expect EA developed (internal) games on Steam as a result. It would be nice to see, especially if it meant DRM free versions of their games. I just hope EA gets their damn head on straight and realizes that Spore was pirated a week before retail, and that DRM is only effecting their actual customers.

Still plenty of upcoming big games missing on Steam.. Where's Red Alert 3 or Starcraft 2 for example?

I know that's because EA and Blizzard have their own agenda's with DLC, but it would be nice to see 1 system for all big games on the PC.. Atm I think Steam is the best option..

Activision has a presence on Steam.. and Starcraft 2 doesn't even have a release date, so what? I'm not suggesting that Blizzard's games will show up anytime soon, but I'm not going to assume against it either. What is Blizz's agenda again?

Steam is the best option so far as online goes. I mean.. direct2drive is a joke, and so is EA's DL service. Shit, last time I checked EA was actually charging more than their own MSRP for 2142 online. What the hell is that about? Convenience charge?

Hopefully id's new partnership with EA doesn't mean that their new games won't appear on Steam. I guess we'll see how that works out. I mean, they're letting Crytek do their thing, and so far as I know they don't own either company.. unless they do own Crytek, I could be wrong 'bout that one.

Maybe releasing Crysis warhead on steam is a test, see how it sells compared to D2D and EA service.

Hopefully they realise their service sucks, and use Steam :)

So true. DRM doesnt stop game from being pirated. It just give problems to who buys it legally. Limit to three installs? Am i buying game or rent?...

Anway Steam is a great service, and so is Impulse. Love both. Digital distribution competition ftw!
