Loakum Ugh….scratch that previous comment. The upcoming Game of Thrones video game is a F’in mobile phone game. Why can’t they came an open world GoT game, like Witcher 3 or God of War? (> 3 Months ago)

Since 7555 DaysAnd if some people want their physical copies have some of the benefits of the digital, Microsoft could just implement a system that when you put your disc on your console ask you if you want to get your physical copy be treat it as a digital and having all the DRM stuff, but loose the ability play it offline and to resell it and trade it as you wish.
That way people who is inside the region lock (myself) and people with no internet connection can play with no problem.
Plain and simple. Give choice to people.
Since 6216 Days1) surge from the announcement, undoubtedly helping
2) PS4 is sold out, can't sell what you don't have
3) PS4 has a bunch of bundles that are in the top 10 as well, which youd have to take into consideration
4) Best seller charts are based on what's sold the best in the last 24 hours, not cumulatively. Meaning that xb1 deal has sold more in the last day, not overall... so its kind of meaningless to look at this stuff lol

Since 6468 DaysAlso, Respawn does a fantastic job in this video of, I think, explaining without confusion just what it is that the "Cloud" does for the Xbox One without any of the marketing buzzwords.

"Basically, so Microsoft and Google have datacenters all over the world with tons of fast machines in them, and they can slice em up however they want, turn them into virtual machines, and then what they've done is they've exposed that in a very awesome way for Xbox One games. If you're in Connecticut and you want to play a game, we can say alright, well here's the datacenter you're going to because that's the closest one, you have a 30 ping to it, and there's no empty servers, let's spin one up for you in 5 seconds, and then off you go. We don't have to provision hardware, we don't have to go out and buy a bunch of servers and rack em in different places, it's just there, it's easy. It gets rid of all that fear and worry of how is this actually going to work. And dynamically allocated. We don't have to worry about where we place them, and do we need more servers, less servers, it just works. They give the specs, we code to those specs. Let's get crazy here and say it gets popular in Japan. If we didn't think it would get popular there, and we didn't buy a bunch of servers to put there, traditionally, we would be screwed. We love Australians, and we know they get screwed most of the time. This helps alleviate those problems."
Dynamic allocation of dedicated servers without the devs having to put in the kind of work or resources to support dedicated servers. They're just there waiting to be dynamically serviced to any number of potential users depending on when the need arises.

That Microsoft are leveraging Azure to make dynamic server allocation more accessible to game developers is a good thing, don't get me wrong but it's not a game changer. Most of the cloud talk has been them moving actual processing into the "cloud" rather than using it to spin up dedicated servers but it's surrounded by so much PR and counter-PR that genuine use-cases are being overlooked because they aren't as sexy as all this marketing fluff wants them to be.

Since 6985 DaysThey'll just tell people the xbone version is using the infinate power of the cloud.
Since 7581 DaysIt's not a big loss so long as there are still dedicated servers. And if we get Source tools it will be the best version by a longshot. That seems like a big if.
I need to register on their forums and spam some impressions pretty soon.
Since 7525 Dayswhats stopping microsoft doing a other 180 when enough people are on board?
i mean there terms and service can be changed when ever they want, and once one has got a foot hold people will just except it.
i never trust corporations but right now i trust ms about as far as i can shoot my load from a placid dick.

I think you're being a paranoid twit, or just looking for reasons to bash Microsoft. It's one or the other :D

Like the people who made "Drivatar" ( which surprisingly isn't made by Turn 10 but is developed by Microsoft Research Cambridge http://research.microsoft.com/en-us/projects/driva...)
or the people who theorised the Client/Server AI used in TitanFall.
It is really upsetting to see MS keep fumbling the tech speak when they have so many smart and talented working for them.
Since 7581 DaysYes it has some nifty features. Azure is the most practical.

I think if MS did do another 180, back to the DRM policies (which i don't think they will) people would't do anything about it. If a console that dies after 9 months can't put people off the 360. What makes you think year-after reintroduced DRM would make a difference to their loyalty?

Since 7581 DaysI think it's neat that they're dressing it up, but I hope they stick to the no/low reward model for player vs. bot mechanics.
It's definitely my most anticipated new PC reveal. And between it, Destiny, and BF4.. I'm pretty happy with the state of mainstream FPS. It was easy to get real cynical with the flood of Call of Duty and its clones, including Halo 4. I feel like we're finally seeing the light at the end of that tunnel. Thankfully we're seeing big titles from teams who actually know what they're doing and aren't just jumping on trends.
Proper support on the PC side could see TitanFall take off in some eSports circles too. They should really do this up. Mods, spectators, all the goodies the scene needs to make it work. I don't have high expectations there, since it's a rarity that anyone actually supports the hardcore, but it could happen. It's fuckin' Source. There's really not a lot of excuses to keep tools away from the community.

Since 7581 DaysBattlefield 3 did not go to the same lengths as Halo 4 to utterly rip off Call of Duty, and in doing so, shift all of the focus in the game towards individual enjoyment over team mechanics. You have shown over and over again your utter lack of understanding of what Battlefield 3 actually is. So I'm just going to say you're wrong and get on with it.
