Loakum Ugh….scratch that previous comment. The upcoming Game of Thrones video game is a F’in mobile phone game. Why can’t they came an open world GoT game, like Witcher 3 or God of War? (> 3 Months ago)
Loakum By FAR, the upcoming Game of Thrones King’s Road was the Game of the Show! It plays like God of War Ragnarok! :) (> 3 Months ago)

New mono graphics driver & GPU upclock -
"Since E3, an example is that we've dropped in what we internally call our mono driver. It's our graphics driver that really is 100 percent optimised for the Xbox One hardware. You start with the base [DirectX] driver, and then you take out all parts that don't look like Xbox One and you add in everything that really optimises that experience. Almost all of our content partners have really picked it up now, and I think it's made a really nice improvement."
"This is the time where we've gone from the theory of how the hardware works--what do we think the yield is going to look like, what is the thermal envelope, how do things come together--to really having them in our hands. That's the time where you start tweaking the knobs.
Either your theory was right dead on, or you were a little too conservative, or you were a little too aggressive. It's actually been really good news for us, and an example of that is we've tweaked up the clock speed on our GPU from 800mhz to 853mhz."

The fact is, as much as people like Major Nelson, he's just another PR dude.

Since 7453 DaysIt was done specifically to negate the 10% GPU loss that went to the system's OS. So in essence, developers now have 100% access to the GPU, and the new "mono driver" allows them to code to the metal. So this was hardly done to impress gamers.

In the end we're probably going to get something that resembles the Wikipad. And if Microsoft ever decides to make it a transitional device that can go mobile, it would be able to access your 360/X1 libraries without the need for an additional platform.

Since 7453 Days"I think the witch hunt was a little bit unjustified there," Carmack said during the keynote address. "I personally am extremely fond of having all of my digital purchases in a curated garden. All of my iTunes, all of my Amazon stuff, all of my Steam things. And it's a positive thing."

Since 7581 DaysThat said, I totally disagree with Carmack. There's a big difference between opt-in, curated gardens, and walled-garden platforms. And really, I'm not sure it even addresses the issue at all. You already have all of your digital purchases in a curated garden on the Xbox 360 and PS3. I think that's vastly oversimplifying, and maybe simply misunderstanding the issue.
Now what Carmack did have to say that's totally correct and should definitely be in this thread: That Kinect is a high latency, zero button mouse. Perfect description.

A lot of people here will talk up TitanFall and never play it. Or play it for a few hours and then it will sit on their shelves forever.
I find the hype behind KI from all the non-fighting-game-fans equally hilarious.
