Kinect is front and center on the X1. Kinect is one of Microsoft's top priorities. Microsoft is pushing pretty hard.

Let's not pretend it's all the same shit. Their priorities are pretty clear. This #dealwithit bullshit doesn't really make any sense.

No matter how much we hate it, motion gaming is here to stay with all 3 consoles.

While I don't totally disagree... Sony touted 3D gaming and thought is was the wave of the future
, and that was never mentioned by Sony or MS in their latest next gen conferences.

And Wii U is doing terrible. I'm not giving up on Kinect just yet, but I don't hold a lot of promise for it either.

Nintendo has a lot to answer for really, there was no signs of this motion control nonsense until Wii.

In effect you could say Nintendo broke Microsoft. (they were doing ok until kinect)

Well, I dont think you should blame Nintendo for that. Blame MS for jumping into the hype of motion control, I suppose. In any case, the WiiU is dead before it even began, MS is on the brink of disaster with their new console and Sony has yet to convince me personally especially in terms of price! with their console having 8gb of DDR5 memory, I think we are in for a shock in terms of price.

Well its not just stronger, it has 50% more CU's and 50% more teraflops on their GPU, not to mention a crap ton more bandwidth on the memory side.

I fell for that last generation when the PS3 was supposed to be 110% more powerful than the 360, yet Halo 4 looks more visually impressive than any game I've played on my PS3. This time, I think I'll believe it when I see it.

3x3.2 < 8x1.6...

A Thread is not quite like a Core. It's a simulated Core, but it won't offer the same performance as a true Core would. So a 3 Core processor with 6 Threads won't beat a 6 Core processor with no extra Threads.

4x1.9 + 4x1.6 in the Galaxy S4 > 8x1.6 :p

I think Sony can really hurt MS by improving PSN+, for those that are on the fence. And you know they are going
to at least offer all the functionality that MS had with Xbox LIVE on 360, for their PS4.

PSN needs lots of work to compete with XBL from a usability perspective. Usability > Features in the eyes of most users, also with the announcement of dedicated servers for every XBL multiplayer game, I don't think MS have much to worry about although they could definitely learn a few things from Sony in terms of services.

Kinect is only good as tech demo and thats that, ever since they released it and its been a LONG time now, not one single game has ever complemented it right. Every single review and gamer impressions has been bad from DBZ, SW, HP...etc. its just bad and too soon they wanted a piece of that motion gaming group and they failed badly at it plain simple.

Kinect Sports and Dance Central series were actually great fun games, that got solid reviews across the board. Problem was that there just wasn't enough titles like those. Even still, 20+ million in sales in just two years, whilst breaking all sorts of sales records doesn't suggest failure to me. Kinect was a huge success for MS so I'm not surprised they've invested so much into the second generation and it's looking pretty revolutionary based on what I've seen/read.

But to be fair the PS3 and 360 were world apart in terms of architecture, Xbone and PS4 are practically the same as far as CPU goes.

I never believed the PS3 was 110% more powerful though.

I wonder what their metric is. A whole console generation? Certainly not. A single GPU generation? I sorta doubt it's even that dramatic. Hopefully Nvidia's Maxwell is going to dominate everything next year :)

I think they'll approximately match current-generation PC stuff, and by current generation PC stuff, I'm including everything up to the mighty GTX Titan. Which is win-win-win for everyone.

Even for PC gamers. It means bigger budgets across the board and more high end software period.

Not that PC's are likely to follow that path of APU's and SoC's anyway.

Casual gamers don't engage in verbal castration with each other over graphic cards and memory, they don't seek to see the utter destruction of a company's game platform and the displacement of millions of gamers just because they don't game on the same machine. They don't tell each other to lick the rims of a toilet bowl because someone disagreed with them about specs or performance.

Our demographic lost it's collective mind a long time ago.

It's a console. It's not your home. Switching platforms across a generation without backwards compatibility as even a consideration. What exactly is the big deal there? Some people are way too attached to brands.

Actually 360 had superior graphics chip and it had 10mb edram to access it. No split memory. PS3 had split memory and RSX I think only had access to 256mb ddr3 other was fast 256 r @3.2 ghz and Cell processor was the best thing about it. Although PS3 had more processing power. 360 was good for games dev and its simple architecture. But no games. lol. This time Xbox has no advantage at all cpu, gpu or memory.

If Halo4 more visually impressive anything on PS3 lol then Halo5 will also be more visually impressive then anything on PS4. Confirmed.
