But they really don't. We know Sony built a video game machine already. All Sony needs to do at E3 is announce a DRM-free platform and I'm buying a PS4.
And.........PLEEEEEEASE Sony, talk about potential Oculus Rift VR support and I`m all yours!

LOL.. people sure do dream big. Let's just hope for a DRM-free platform. That's a big enough dream as it is.

That kind of stuff is always amusing though. You can literally watch them transform from boycotting gaming activists to platform defender/apologists. It's hilarious!
It really is lol.

Consoles gaming will be fine irrespective of DRM. Game companies make some 80% or more from it. I think people are just exaggerating. Microsoft will loose some gamers but again will gain many more wii and normal consumer even though they haven't much kinect games so far.

Sorry but what you said made me laugh so hard.....

If an internet connection is going to be needed every 24 hours to validate your copy of the game then a LOT of people will have a problem with that including casuals.

MS is banking on the fact that 40 million people pay for its gold service right now and assumed everyone would be ok with Online DRM. Are those 40 million people constantly online or at least once ever 24 hours. NO! I know I am not.

Internet connection to do some checks and all, once in a day is perfectly fine. I am pretty sure most people are ok with it. Haven't used steam for many many years but earlier you had to login in to steam or if you try to play game attached to steam it would ask to login first.

All in one box is great marketing for XO. I think I can sell it much easier than PS4 if I was a sales guy. It has something for everyone in family. Most people do not know ddr3 or gddr5 or so and so teraflops. A slick kinect demo is easy to impress. XO will be fine and not doomed as many think on internet.

Yea lets forget about the casual crowd for a second, because we aren't that.

It's safe to bet that Xbones will sell to the general consumer because they don't know any better, of course core gamers are the ones that buy these systems at launch and that will matter.

Many multiplatform games will remain on 360 and PS3 for some time, so its up to MS and Sony to sell these systems as best they can and so far MS aren't doing a very good job.

I suspect Sony will leave it in the hands of developers if they want to develop for it.

And those are where the risks to developers come in. Oculus is $300 third party peripheral, they're not going to start developing for it until it builds a healthy user base across multiple platforms. You also wouldn't want to be a developer working on an Xbox One or PS4 exclusive without knowing how many actually have the device on their chosen platform.

And then there is Microsoft and Sony. Why would they want to share with Oculus when they could just make VR devices of their own?

Besides I don't know what happens to Oculus Rift now. Andrew Scott Reisse (co-founder) got killed on Thursday.

Like how everyone freaked out when it was spotted at 343 Studios? It's a cool thing. A lot of developers are interested in it. That doesn't mean Sony is going to support it.

Dream big. You're probably getting DRM instead.

I wouldn't call it "much better". Sony's not blocking used games on their published titles which is nice, but if everyone else is still doing it then it's just a nice gesture. I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft announced the same thing. They just want to placate the EAs and Activisions who want a bump in their quarterly reports. But I wonder what's going to happen when they make it more difficult to get rid of Madden XXXIII or COD XIX to buy the next off the shelf sequel.

Well I suppose its up to gamers to vote with their wallet, but we know how that story ends.

I don't really support Activation or EA anyway, so my habits won't change much.

Used games are massive in Japan so I doubt it will effect many JP games and that's pretty much the only stuff I buy anyway :D

The way Sony worded it was "Sorry but our hands were tied" and that probably wouldn't have been the case if MS didn't shove it down everyone's necks like they have.

Oh please Jolli, don't believe that "our hands were tied" bullshit.

Sony is no less responsible for their solution than Microsoft is for theirs.

Don't buy those stupid PR lies. None of these companies have your back. Especially Microsoft, but also Sony. They're all more or less the same.

Oh I dont' believe they have my back, but the fact that Sony aren't supporting DRM themselves speaks volumes if you ask me.

Sony can't force publishers to do anything otherwise they will lose their business so yea I do think they have their hands tied so to speak.

I'm not even sure it's for activision, afterall, they're some of the few publishers who do NOT require an online pass for COD. I think this is ultimately down to EA. but it'll make things pretty simple. Don't buy EA games until they're cheap enough to compensate the fact i can't sell it on or lend it to friends.

Or just don't buy EA games at all, its all a pile of junk anyway, unless you like sports games and sims.

Ubisoft will most defiantly have DRM also, but at least their games are worth buying.
