I still trust Famitsu pretty much the most, but only when it comes to japanese games. I've seen so many western mags totally miss the point of japanese games that I just can't be surprised at Famitsu's lack of understanding of *our* games.

This is from IGN, in regards to what Famitsu thought of the Wii version:

The reviewers noted that while the content is almost the same as the GameCube original, the direct Wiimote-based controls offer a plus, making the game feel like something fresh and different. One reviewer said that the game offers the feeling of being closer to the action as well as upping the tension.

Not for me, Famitsu pretty much gives the most popular games good scores, simply due to their popularity. No matter how bad/good they really are. They had a article on it not to long ago. So yea, that's why, at least for me, I consider their review scores pretty worthless.

I thought it looked excellent on Gamecube aswell to be honest, I'm mostly wooing because it's clearly a proper Final Fantasy now, not just a co-op dungeon crawl spinoff. :)

Looks pretty darn good, guess i'll be getting me one of those Wii thingies pretty soon.

A question for those in the know, is there anyway to play US or EU software on a JP system yet.

Uploader disc or whever its called ?

I don't think this game should even be called Crystal Chronicles it doesn't look or play anything like the first one. :S

It's still co-op and based on the same fundamental ideas and themes with realtime gameplay. Stronger emphasis on story and a different art style isn't really a bigger change than say FF9 and FF10.

Freeloader? I don't think they have a Wii version yet. However, I think you can use the GC one on your Wii to play import GC games, not 100% though.

Yeah, the latest Freeloader (the one that works on the pearl white PAL cube) works for playing import GC games on the Wii.

Datel are exploring possibilities to make a freeloader for actual Wii games, but nothing's solid yet. Pretty hot item though what with the absolute chaos of weird ass japanese games that are bound to come out for it. :)

I just gotta pitch in some praise for Wii Sports. I've never really played anything but bowling and golf in it properly before, but I've spent an hour or so with boxing now and I must say it works really well.. and I'm a fucking pile of sweat! :D

The whole fitness aspect of Wii has always sounded like a ploy to me, but if I do this once a day I bet I can eat a chocolate ball more every day aswell!
