You were really on the money over at PSY though Jolli. Making a remake for the PS3 is nuts, and likewise nuts on the 360. The PSP, like you said, is a better place because it has reasonable development costs and time, and by that same logic the DS is even more suitable.

Putting it on XBLA alongside Galaga, Defender and Root Beer Tapper? Hmm. Classy.

Do they? I love both.. and I think they appeal to me for simular reasons really. I've always been a big hand held fan though. I've owned Game Gears, a couple of Atari Lynx's, a NGPC, you name it.. I've at least TRIED owning it.

Hand held gaming has really come a long way since those days tho.. the DS and the PSP are great platforms IMO. Capable game systems.

DS is the best Nintendo console since the NES.. and I'm including the Wii.

It's just a different platform. Games are games.

Mario Strikers Charged (Football) is awesome. An absolute fucking blast in fact. I mean I loved the first one, but this goes nutty extreme.

With a few mates it's a MUST.

I've yet to test it out actually what with the limited amount of Wii people I know. I'll be able to soon though because after yesterday a mate of mine is pretty bent on getting it.

That game looks so good. Easily the most appealing game on the Wii! Classic controller FTW!

That's pretty impressive 3D for the DS.. frame rate looks REALLY bad in the video though. It'd be sorta cool if that turned out to be a good game though. Would be a pretty unique edition to the library imo (unique to the DS, at least).

Let's discuss some irony shall we!

See, I always found the whole Wii60 thing rather annoying. The notion of two console fanbases teaming up is just about as contra-productive for yummy gaming as normal, straight up fanboyism.

However, perhaps even more silly is the fact that some people have tried to enforce a "PSWii" alternative that for all intents and purposes misses the point completely of having two consoles for the price of the one "enemy".

Regardless, new things have come to my attention making the PSWii faction even sillier - the fact that the PS3 actually interferes with the Wii.

Now, not everyone has things set up like I do, but those that do will prolly see their consoles sitting in front of them on a coffee table or a platform of their choosing. Now, I've tried to place the emitter of infernal WOOSHING - the 360 - as far away from me as humanly possible, so that is sitting underneath my telly, while my Wii sensorbar is attached to its handy little stand, also placed on the bench that supports my "TUBE" as americans seem to like calling it.

So, in front of me on said coffee table I have the Wii and the PS3. The PS3 standing up is a bit like having the Eiffel tower in your appartment, so that is lying down in all its shinyness. No really.. it's fucking.. it's pretty fucking shiny.

It's like... reflective shiny.

WHICH SEGWAYS INTO THE PROBLEM PARAGRAPH OF MY FUNNY POST. You see the Wii isn't a voodoo magic thingy running on the love of children and small, young animals even though it may seem like it. It's this light.. remote... ir thingy that recieves the, um, coordinates if you will from the sensor bar (or any other source of intense heat/light). These rays of purely scientific amazingness are on their merry way to the wiimote to tell it what's going on when suddenly they're BOUNCED off of a five hundred quid plastic mirror, resulting in some wobbly insane-ness in whatever game you attempt to play.

After laughing hysterically at the irony of one console fucking up another (it seems to be doing that a lot, I've totally let the soothing noise level of the PS3 make my 360 endeavours incredibly painful) I realised that it's actually a major problem unless I redecorate.

So I did my best, and I can now play on the Wii by sitting a little to the left or shoving the table aside a bit, but I pretty much have to move the PS3 if I have people over who wanna use a second Wiimote.

Now this obviously isn't gonna be a problem for people who have a more neat entertainment setup at home with their consoles all sitting underneath or around their tellies, but I still thought it was significant enough to mention.

You know, "mention" Simon style by writing an essay.

Backups you say? That's pushing it a little man.. maybe you should just stick to homebrew.

And yes, there is a homebrew scene for the DS.
