GSY Video Xbox Series X

Assassin's Creed Unity and Dark Souls III are among the games that have received the FPS Boost treatment on Xbox Series X|S, a feature that improves the original framerate on some titles. Here is a video for each of the games.

With the release of the remastered version of Assassin's Creed III last week, we felt it would nice to go back to 2014 to see if Assassin's Creed Unity could run in 4K with a stable framerate with our RTX 2080 Ti and i9 9900K. The result isn't perfect when the game is fully maxed out, but it seems to run smoothly most of the time, which allows to enjoy its beautiful graphics even more. Sure, there are still some small problems here and there (some pop-in issues or weird crowd movement for example), but overall, it's still a pretty impressive title to look at. Also, something we particularly like in this episode is the feeling you have every time the main character jumps, somehow floating a little bit longer than normal in the air, but it makes it even more vertiginous if you see what we mean. Odyssey does not convey the same impression anymore, because the devs have made the character more reactive and dynamic, and in a way, it's a little bit of a shame.

It's fair to say that there isn't much to report these days, so I'm happy to have something new to post for a change. Here are a few videos of Assassin's Creed Unity's first solo DLC, named Dead Kings where Arno will visit the rather gloomy Saint-Denis, both above and under ground. And since it's free, it's well worth giving it a try!

Update: Added some images and the launch trailer.

GSY Review PC PS4 Xbox One

After two episodes in less civilized settings, Assasin’s Creed Unity is back to its roots in a European city, and not just any other city but nothing less than Paris during the French revolution. Many of us had dreamt of seeing the city of lights as the base for the adventures of an Assassin, and Ubisoft finally did it. But did they actually deliver? Your answer is inside!
Note: As usual our full review, and quite a long one at that, is only available in French, but we have translated our final thoughts.
Update 2: New PC gallery added.

In a few days, Assassin's Creed Unity will be out in the open and we thought it would be the perfect timing to look back on the seven years that have gone by since the release of the first episode. Six games that we decided to capture one last time on PC to make these two retrospective videos. If you have ever wondered how far the series has come graphically, now is your chance.
