Trailer PS4 PC

Square Enix has revealed that new content for acclaimed NieR: Automata is on its way for PS4 and PC. Entitled "3C3C1D119440927", the DLC brings 3 new colosseums challenges and additional sub-quests which once completed will reward you with various cosmetic items such as original NieR: Replicant costumes for 2B, 9S and A2, special music tracks and more. Screenshots and two gameplay videos after the jump.

GSY Video PS4 PC

PC players have been waiting for the release of NieR: Automata for 2 weeks, and apparently, the wait may not have been worth it. The PC port of the game seems to suffer from several issues that are quite unacceptable in such a game. To begin with, activating Vsync results in locking the framerate at 30 fps in gameplay sequences, at least on our rig. The only workaround we have found is to play in borderless window mode, which wouldn't be a problem if such a display was indeed available in the game. We then had to find some outside help, with this dedicated program. Alas, even after doing all that, the game still doesn't feel very smooth, despite what our FPS counter keeps saying, which makes the whole experience a little unpleasant to say the least. A few other problems have also been mentioned on the Internet, like the 30 fps cutscenes, which caused the game to get mixed reviews on Steam yesterday - it has improved since then though.

Trailer PS4

The much awaited NieR: Automata from Square Enix and PlatinumGames is available on PS4 starting today. It will release on Steam next week, March 17.

GSY Review PS4 PC

NieR Automata may have been available in Japan for a little while, but we didn't purchase the game in advance on the Japanese store and waiting for the official review copy sent by Square-Enix. As carzy as it may sound, the NDA we signed forbids us to show you much, so we only have 4 gameplay videos to share, with absolutely no spoilers whatsoever. The full review is only in French, but we have the verdict and +/- section fully translated as usual.

jmd749 @nostradamus: Yes, Talos Principle is one of those overlooked gems of a game. For my 2nd play through I started it in VR using my Oculus, havn't got very far. I'd highly recommend it to any puzzle fan (17 Hours ago)

nostradamus some pacing and life. I don't mind the puzzle zones trigger some quiet time, all fine and dandy, but the awfull back and forth in the whole island withou a melodic sound? even crafted in the game or (17 Hours ago)

nostradamus first thing i did for the "no music" The Witness was give a middle finger to Blow, and use MP3 or youtube to stream so classic composers, and give the dull game world (every one is dead how original) (17 Hours ago)

  • nostradamus

nostradamus and its funny as hell how thsi game has some organ/gregorian chorus (picks up in the key moments) for the soundtrack. it's sublime (these are the dudes who made sesious sam?! L.o.l.) (17 Hours ago)

nostradamus the dev's walking sim "now you get it" to appreciate a good puzzle. Still love The Witness, but i like direct simplicity more. (18 Hours ago)

nostradamus it even has the whole Tetronimo thingy going on. its way more barebones (mixture of its own game or a mod even) but its a breath of fresh air to take a puzzle game that doesn't make you suffer through (18 Hours ago)
