Xbox 360

EA Sports has released some more gameplay images of Fifa World Cup 06, showing some more than that single one did last week. EA has to make alot of decisions when creating a game - how the controls should be, which rules the game should use, and most important: what color the grass in the game should be. I don't know what they are doing, maybe they are trying to make the game have more in common with PES5 by degrading the graphics?

I still think fifa 06: rtwc looks better than fifa wc 06. I've only played the demo but in my opinion the grass looked a lot better (more realistic) there.

They look like Xbox 1 shots! What are they up to! Seriously, Konami could release Pro Evo 5 running at a higher res and native widescreen support next month and they would own Football sims on 360 for the entire generation.

Shocking :O

You might be right, but on the other hand, most WC games are played around 5 PM German time - and in june, that isn't dark.

Here's a little bit lighter image, still doesn't look as "good" as RTWC:

strange how many people are going on its graphic qualities yet stating Pro Evo is better. PES has always been poorer in graphics for me but is much the better game, i doubt it very much but what if EA have improved the gameplay over RTWC at a cost to the graphics

i very much doubt it, as EA would need to make a new engine just for a tournament release but PES/FIFA should have taught us that graphics are not everything

That's just terrible, and it has NOTHING to do with the 360. Even a current gen grass texture being stretched over that area would look better.

Who would buy this, honestly, own up.

EA are having a laugh if they think they can sell people the same game twice. They should just rename it " Fifa: Different game.....Honest!"

i found the gameplay in RTWC (on xbox or 360) really good playable. for me it is the best in a fifa since years. graphics' not all that's right but a next gen console needs a next gen graphics and fifa rtwc and wc 06 have it. those games are released for two generations of consoles so i really don't expact the best there could be done (see tomb raider, it's nice, but it could be even nicer). i think fifa 07 will have a much better graphics engine than these two-gen fifas.

EA always has to create an engine that runs smooth on all consoles and most pcs and now the limit is set much higher than one year ago when this engine was developed / improved.

Xtreme: It's a different engine for the 360 version than the old gens.

Sheps: I'll be buying it. I enjoy playing online against random opponents and unfortunately Konami haven't managed to get that right on the Xbox, leaving the way open for cheats to prosper.

The presentation is really nice, but that seems to be the thing EA are best at. Cinematics look great and the players animate nicely when they scripted like that.

The running and shooting is still massively disappointing though, the movement reminds me of the kids at school who weren't very good at football but played anyway. The ball physics are again inconsistent as it seems to vary in weight from an old style heavy pigskin ball through to an extremely light modern ball depending on whether it's being passed or shot.

Both of those major points are exactly what Konami have been getting right for a long, long time now. Why EA fail every time is a mystery to me.

FN3 is just a game with close up on 2 characters, you cant compare that game to any other game when it comes to graphic :S
I mean look at ATI/Nvidia demonstrating of their graphic cards, they just show something very close up that looks fucking amazing, but you cant add that all over in a level.
