PS. Thanks for the video, davton.
People are thirsting for Ragnarok details to play it in the upcoming months, and only now opening the access to the franchise to PC players.
It shouldn't be like this. PC is relegated to second class citizenship for Sony, and they really shoud clarify their stance if they weally want to thrive on the PC community.
Try checking the file integrity and see if that works, if that doesn't work, you can search the Steam forums to see if anyone had the same issue and was able to find a solution. Lastly, you can try unistalling and re-installing the game, sometimes that works. I know it sucks to have to download the whole game again, but God of War is around 30-40 GB, so it shouldn't take long to complete.
If all that fails, the developers have a customer support link in the Steam forums, it's on the FAQ pinned thread, if I'm not mistaken. I'm sure they would help and maybe fix something if it's a technical issue with the game. The best of luck to you.
I'm just happy I can experience the game. I honestly don't care about not playing games in their launch window - let's say till 3 months from release. Same for movies and TV shows. As long as they are great, I will enjoy them a lot either today, tomorrow or next year.
FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) is a tactic used and abused by companies to psychologically manipulate and exploit people. That's why consumerism is such a big problem in the world, people are almost brain-washed to consume non-stop without even thinking if they need and/or want what they're buying. Which lead to humanity slowly killing the world for profits.
How many of us have bought so many things we never even used or used very little, to the point that it wasn't worth buying? I bought Red Dead Redemption 2: Ultimate Edition back in 2020, played for a few hours - till you reach the camp - and haven't touched it ever since. I do plan to play it start to finish, though until then, that money could have been used for something else that I would have used already.
Sony most likely will never release it's 1st-party exclusives day 1 on PC. Which is fine, my only wish is that they start to make the gap between console and PC versions shorter, like 1 year after the console's release - 1.5-2 years if there's an expansion 6-12 months down the line.
PS. I'm looking forward to God of War: Ragnarok in 1-3 years.
Like I said, had issuess like this long long time ago. Days Gone works perfectly, Valhalla, Metro Exodus, Horizon, RE Village workin fine
Games should work like a charm and it should be standard and as we all know, it is totaly not.
I don't know how different the versions are, but I know that when the people from Cheat Engine make trainers and other tables, they have to make separate ones for each version most of the time.
Because each version works a little differently, maybe when one doesn't work, another will. Long shot, but worth trying if you don't mind the hassle and losing some features another store may have over the other.
I once had a game I spent months/weeks trying to make it work and when I was almost ready to give up, I was finally able to make it work. Way back in the early 2000's.
Almost the same happened with Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, though it worked fine, there was a mission that bugged out and I tried for 2 weeks, but just didn't work. Then years later I was talking with my girlfriend at the time about it and she convinced me to try again. BAM!!! Worked instantly. Same PC, same everything. Hell if i know what happened.
On the other hand, ReCore on the Microsoft Store, I tried many times across the years and still haven't been able to make it work. Will try when I install Windows 11, but if it doesn't work, I'm just not gonna bother anymore.
PC gaming is epic when it works correctly, but when it doesn't, it can be really shitty. Sometimes it's just a little configuration or Windows issue that gets in the way and you beat your head against the wall trying to figure out why it doesn't work and how to fix it. Sometimes you get lucky and other times you just have to keep trying through trial and error - until your patience runs out.
Still absolutely love PC gaming and wouldn't trade it for any console gaming. Pros far outweight the cons and all that for me.
