I love consoles. I just bought a WiiU for fuck's sake. I've had multiple consoles in every console generation. I even replaced my 360 when the piece of shit died.

I think the PS4 is pretty cool too. It just doesn't have any games yet.

The PS4 is thus more of a gaming machine in its core focus. “Yeah, I mean that’s probably why, well at least on paper, it’s a bit more powerful. But I think the Xbox One is gonna catch up. But definitely there’s this eSRAM. PS4 has 8GB and it’s almost as fast as eSRAM [bandwidth wise] but at the same time you can go a little bit further with it, because you don’t have this slower memory. There's no computational way they're going to get the same assets rendered at 1080p/60fps. They're going to have lower the polycount/texture res. Dev tools aren't going to help with this, it's going to be on a game by game or engine by engine basis. Software cannot rewrite hardware. This isn't Guns of the Patriots nanomachines future tech yet.

Until devs start shooting for the Xbox and then scaling up for the PS4 MS will keep having to make statements like this.

Regardless of what you're reading from misterx, there is no magical software solution that will fix the desparity between XB1 and PS4 hardware. Come to grips with this and you're life will be much more pleasant I assure you

and scoobs is saying that while MS's dev tools mature, so will sony's. parity will never be reached, there will always be a disparity between versions. he's just telling you to come to terms with that and you'll enjoy yourself more, rather then living with this constant glimmer of hope that there is some secret sauce yet to be unlocked. it's never going to happen, not without a full hardware revision.
