I loved everything in the demo. I was kind of glad they didn't make it like GRAW because it made it feel like more of a fast paced shooter. Tactical is really be overdone if you ask me. I hardly used the jump button because I didn't need to. Same with crouching, but it was a pain. Grenades are the hardest thing for me. They just take too long to blow up! And if I try to shoot it, sometimes I can't see it in the snow. They're hard to use against the giant spider because they charge at you. I loved the graphics though. The explosions and smoke effects are the best I've seen, and the motion blur works where its needed without making it hard to see stuff.

I was probably so impressed by this game because it was playable so far from release (Q1 07). It was a demo I could say: "even if this was like the shipped product, I wouldn't be upset." I just hope they make it completely different over the next 8 months.

Damn this guy on 1ups podcast said lost planet was better than ANYTHING he saw on the ps3 and it got best action game of E3.

It looks nice but i agree with Jato the gameplay is really tough going and becomes extremely repetative and dull.

I hope there are plenty of save points in this game, one thing i hated about games like resident evil (also by capcom :P) is that if I died I would be inclined to turn the console off because i just spent an hour getting to a point where i couldn't save.

This game gives me that same kind of feeling, especially when the monsters are so hard.

The demo was anything but dull, I hope there are regular save points too.

I only played it twice i died at the last boss both times and got fed up with it, which indicates something isn't holding my interest here.

My point was that after taking the effort to get that far in a DEMO (and it's a fair old walk) i end up getting killed so easily.. what the hell is with that.

I would like to see check points and retry's..

I actually beat the first level on my first try ;) If it wasn't that challenging the game would lost quite a bit of what makes it such a fun game to play.

You can 'grapple' - hook onto the akrid enemies. Just point at them and press Y.

And Wayne will launch on to their face, but during so -- mash L trigger (the grenade button) and Wayne will stick a grenade in their mouth, and do a backflip off.

Really Jollipop, the boss was is easy! Just hop into the VS in the chamber. Shoot the orange tail on him when he turns around. Hardest part is when he drops boulders around. Run from his shadow.

Hey Jolli, to say this kind of game isn't your "bag" is more than alright. But to be all down on it because it's dull and repetitive, that's just not Kosher. It's a game!! I think most games could be considered repetetive if they weren't the kind of game you liked. In fact, the last game I remember that wasn't truly repetitive was Mr Bones (if anyone understands this reference, add me to your friends list immediately).

Anyway, I'm totally blown away by this game, and I'd say that anyone who's a fan of shooters is doing themselves a disservice by not downloading it.

Hey maybe i'm crazy, but did anyone else have trouble getting the mech up the ice mountain after you kill the 3 beetles? I did my first few runs, but the last one I was able to get through there, and storm my way to the final boss with the same mech.

Yea, I wonder how that will work out. Will there be monsters or just mechs? It'd be cool if there was a UT Invasion type multiplayer game mode where the players have to battle the Akrids. That'd just kick ass.

No because i want to like this game because it looks cool and i like what it's trying to do, but something about it is frustratingly boring..

It's not a huge step from playing a Resident Evil game you run around in third person shooting stuff, but it nowhere near as much fun as Resident Evil.

Did anyone ever play Gun Valkeryie on the original Xbox, this game reminds me alot of that game.

This is only a demo and i bet later on it's guna get so hard you will wana cry ..

No because  i want to like this game because it looks cool and i like what it's trying to do, but something about it is frustratingly boring..

I agree with Joli on this one, i played it and it looked amazing, but i was uninspired, maybe its because i no nothing of the story yet, and this demo just throws you in, and tells you to start shooting, or it could be because i am a Mass Effect slave, and nothing else interest me, i hope not because GOW and SplinterCellDA and RainbowSix are my must buys for this year....

It's 32 player Snow Pirate battles! Mechs and all. Each team fights for the beacons kinda like Battlefield.

Bingo, its that its a demo. I'm sure if they had added some things, the overall flow might've been lost, or the demo would've been much bigger. This is the best demo to ever have been released to me. Since it came out, I've played nothing much else.

It reminds me of Starship troopers in a sense, man vs bugs. Finally a scifi blend that is visually interesting. It's very cinematic in some sections, the motion blur seems to be perfect, it doesnt keep you from seeing your enemies, and it gives a sense of realism. The textures on the enemies are very high res and look realistic. Animation is also great. For a demo of a game 10 months from release, this is hot!
