"Everyone else is doing it!" is a poor defense to begin with.
Are there iOS games on your Call of Duty list? Really?
Oh, right.. Call of Duty is exactly the same as its always been too.
Original trilogy
COD
COD 2
COD 3
Modern Warfare
again 3 games
World at war
Black Ops
Black Ops 2
Call of Duty: Finest Hour
Call of Duty 2: Big Red One
Call of Duty: Roads to Victory
Call of Duty: World at War: Final Fronts
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Mobilized
Call of Duty: World at War: Zombies 1 and 2
Call of Duty: The War Collection
Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified
THAT is overkill. Funny thing is i don't even care about sequels, obviously people like these games so complaining about them is silly, if you don't like it don't by them pretty simple. It's just funny to me how Halo will get called out on this when other games with far more sequels and spin offs get a pass. So what is the difference between Ninty making Mario games for 20+ years and MS making Halo ( Master chief is pretty much MS's "Mario" and Halo pretty much defines the Xbox brand) games for years as well?
:)

You know what I'm certain of? Bungie's next claim to fame won't be some thing they built riding the coattales of another developer.

Just seems like Bias to me, plain and simple. People aren't going to complain about their favorite games series getting sequels, but they will piss and moan about a series they don't like getting more sequels, just sayin.

They are doing four "Destiny" titles for Activision between 2013 and 2020. It's for four games. It was called a "10 year contract" because it was signed in 2010. We already know their tentative release schedule.
That's a far cry from getting "roped into" a "million games" for Activision :D
I'm really rooting for Marathon to be their next non-Destiny project.
@Fabreeze: very weird very fast lol.

To broaden the discussion a bit, I think Bungie was already headed in the COD route, or at least taking some influences from COD.
Remember the opening mission in COD on the ship when you had to jump from the ship, and then you looked like you were slipping and had to be caught by a teammate. A similar thing was done, albeit without the slipping part, in Halo Reach. And it was Jorge who caught Noble Six as he jumped from a huge tower towards the rest of noble team.
You know those scenes later in COD, like when the guy is on the ground in first person pov slightly disoriented by what's going on around him later in the game, the part where he gets tossed the gun at the end of COD4? A similar thing sorta happens in Halo Reach when an elite with an energy sword pops up out of nowhere, and Noble Six becomes disoriented for a bit, and then picks up his gun and proceeds to head after the elite with Jorge.
Then, you know the nuclear explosion scene in COD4? A similar kinda thing occurs when Jorge tosses Noble Six out of the Covenant ship while in space, and then the nuclear explosion goes off, killing Jorge and you have the chance to view the entire thing from a first person pov.
Even the way in which Noble Six goes out in the end, it's a presentational trick that's very reminiscent of how COD has been known to do things since the first Modern Warfare. So, even before 343, Bungie was sorta already taking a page out of that book. You could even say the first person pov of Noble Six holding his helmet in his hand and then putting it on, is also a nod in the direction of this type of first person immersion.
You know that stuff that 343 has been showing for when an elite gets in the Chief's face, and the Chief dishes out a punch or whatever. Similar thing here in Reach.

So, there are very strong similarities that Bungie was headed in this direction as far as campaign is concerned, and just as I was happy to see Bungie do these sorts of things, I'm happy to see the kinds of evolutions that 343 are making to the traditional Halo formula.

Oooh, Profound, isn't it?
These cool and dramatic additions are necessary in this day and age, even scenes such as the controllable elevator shaft section that we saw, and especially some scripted sections that aide with the telling of the story and with the setting of the atmosphere. And they've been around for some time, but no first person shooter, to my knowledge, and had ever used them quite as effectively, or with the level of impressiveness that I thought COD4 did.
