On a serious note, that's a bummer. But understandable. However... is it a pipe dream to hope BlimBlim would play Shenmue 3 if you guys decide to do a Gamersyde Live when it launches?

I was just going to wait for release but watching this got me hyped so I downloaded the demo myself. It runs, looks and feels much better than I ever thought it would. I was willing to forgive a lot for this game, but no, it's superb. 
I was so pleasantly surprised and it just looks to be a perfect encapsulation of Shenmue for current gen. So happy :)

it's kinda bad they can't produce a console demo for backers. That (my) ps4 version must be complete shit.

Out of curiosity, is the PC demo available to all the backers regardless of which platform they chose?


In case it's not clear, I'm asking if someone who chose the PS4 has access to the PC demo. If they have, at least then everyone who backed the game can try the demo if their PC can run it. While not ideal, it's better than not having access to the demo at all.

Yeah, that sucks then. If making a demo for PS4 would be too much, then they should have given the PS4 version backers access to the PC demo, at least this way everyone could try it.

Though I searched for the Kickstarter post for the demo and it doesn't mention any restrictions to PS4 backers only that:

"The Backer Trial Version will be available to backers who have the Trial Version reward included in their pledge and completed their backer surveys by September 20th, 2019."

Kickstarter - Shenmue III Trial Version Distribution Notice:

So people should check the tier they backed it and if they completed their backer survey before that specific date. If both check correctly, then try emailing the support team of either Ys Net or Fangamer, maybe even both.

Either way, good luck to all the backers. Shenmue III would literally not exist without you all, so cheers.

I fucking love how much this feels like a sequel to a series from the early 2000’s. Like they’ve completely disregarded any and all evolutions or developments within the industry and said "we’re making a sequel to shenmue 2 as if it came out a year after shenmue 2". It’s basically the old games wrapped in a nicer coat of paint. Even the voice acting is garbage. It’s perfect!

Though I don't know if they can't do that because of contract/pledge - like if other people would be pissed they offered something to others that was exclusive to them. Either way, less than 2 months till the release and I've read good things about the demo, so it will be worth the wait.

Yes, I can confirm that is the case. Pledged over 100 dollars, chose PS4 verison and received the code as well.
