Loakum Ugh….scratch that previous comment. The upcoming Game of Thrones video game is a F’in mobile phone game. Why can’t they came an open world GoT game, like Witcher 3 or God of War? (> 3 Months ago)

Sure the controls make it easy and the backtrack for a lot of people may be a boring for some but I don't know how to explain that IMO is a very entertaining game. The only thing I didn't like was the ending.
Interview with information about what's being added, including a couple of screens

I am not sure why DLCs are being delayed so frequently lately, first tomb raider then this.......
Anyway, They still have to announce a price though. If it's more than 800MP they can keep it for all I care. Considering it's offering the same sort of value as the latest tomb raider DLC, it shouldnt be more than 800

. . . . if it is anything more than FREE, then it is not worth the purchase.
Don't get me wrong. I loved Prince of Persia, but the game is unfinished - plain and simple.
It ends on a major cliffhanger, and as far as I am concerned, and unfinished title.
If Ubisoft charges for this DLC, which is supposed to finally provide an proper ending to Prince of Persia, it is tantamount to ripping off gamers.
It would be the worst case scenario that many gamers have worried about would come from DLC and micro-transactions: gamers being nickeled and dimed to death as games being sold to us piecemeal.
I've got no problem with DLC . . . so long as it adds something more to the game that I have already paid for. But if I pay $60 for a game, then I expect to get a full game out of the experience - not a part of a game, only to have the rest of the game sold to me for even more money down the road a few months later.
If Ubisoft is fiscally successful at getting away with selling us a full-priced game piecemeal, then by Xmas 2009, every major publisher is going to be following their lead and doing just that: $60 for part of the game on a disc, plus an extra $10 to $20 for the rest of the game via DLC. If the industry wants to talespin its way into a crash by mid-2010, that would be the quickest way to doing it.
So, as long as Prince of Persia: Epilogue is free, then it's worth getting. The way I see it, I already paid for it when I purchased the disc.
"Blogging is like masturbating into a mirror while you videotape yourself, so you can watch it later, while you masturbate " - LEWIS BLACK (2008)
That's kind of a weak argument really. Epilogue will not finish up the story, it will most likely just offer some extra gameplay and perhaps even tease a sequel further.

The average videogame takes about 12 to 15 hours to beat, while Prince of Persia can be beaten in only 7 hours; half the time of the average videogame . . . with no multiplayer modes anywhere in sight, to extend the value of the purchase.
Under the circumstances, even if Prince of Persia told a full story and came to completion at the end of the first game, it was never worth the $60 (plus tax) Ubisoft sold it for in the first place - trilogy or not. In the end, even with Epilogue added to the package, makes it not worth the $70 price tag that Ubisoft has attached to this title.
Remember back in 2005, I complained about the price of games going from $50 (last generation) to $60 (this generation), when in actuality they should have been going down to mass market pricing like VHS once did for home video, and enticing a broader audience of consumers to the videogaming hobby. I complained once again a year later, when the length of games began to shorten below the 15 to 20 hour mark. So now in 2009, we are already paying 20% more money for what on average, amounts to 25% less game. Now apparently that too is not good enough (for Ubisoft at least) and the plan is to charge us $60 for a 7 hour game, and then nickel & dime us to death at $10 a pop (pun intended), using the unfinished story in the single-player campaign, like a carrot dangled in front of a donkey.
If everyone is okay with that, then fine I guess - I know that people like me, who are very money concious (doubly so since getting laid of for Christmas), wven when it comes to our hobbies, are likely in the minority anyways. Even so, you have to consider that at this rate, one can see by the end of this generation how gamers will be forced to the point of paying $100 for 15 to 20 worth of game. Considering the average game last generation was 15 to 20 for only $50, it just looks like we are getting royally reamed.
I would think that with the current economic state that people would be looking for ways to maximize their spending, not sit idly by while greedy companies come up with craftier ways to rip everyone off.

Considering they actually gave the game a 6/10 and I quite enjoyed it, I think I will jump in anyway :D

Anyone expecting a good closure for the game would be VERY disappointed, the DLC leaves you hanging more than the ending of the game itselft but at least it sort of tells you what to expect in terms of how the next game is probably going to start.
The ending was very short and I thought they could have possibly explored it a little bit more. The disappointing bit for me here is that it was pretty much emotionless unlike the ending of the game. After playing this, I believe ending the game like they did was a MUCH MUCH better decision.
Gameplay, I thought was fantastic here. The acrobatic sequences are definately longer and quite harder and the music was set to adapt REALLY well to how fast you're breezing through it. I found myself smiling through some of them. They give a sort of a rush which was quite fun. Music, very good as always.
You will be fighting quite bit here to be honest and it's the same sort of difficulty you'd expect going by the game itself, perhaps just a bit harder. The final encouter was quite difficult though. Some nice twists in combat here and there and the addition of the rush move has its charms but it fails to impress and sometimes is quite USELESS. Puzzles are quite simple and to be honest, not sure if they can even be called puzzles. There is NO BACKTRACKING, NO COLLECTING LIGHT SEEDS or NO HEALING of the land which I thought was a relief.
All in all, being a big fan of the franchise, I enjoyed this quite a bit and I am satisfied in terms of value. If you enjoyed the game, you'll certainly love this. If you hated the game, of course don't bother with this.
I can't wait for the sequel.
There you have it, it's time for you to make your own decisions. No reiview will make that for you, The eurogamer review certainly didnt stir me away from geting it and I am glad I jumped in.

I'll be able to offer my complete view on the whole PoP controversy by the weekend if everything goes to plan.

Play sent me what has to be a playtrade item by mistake. Box was open, scratch card used, fingerprints all over and dents from what appear to be text scribbles on the sexy LE cover. The game itself within the LE box was sealed, bizarrely enough, but the rest was clearly used and in pretty terrible order.
Soooo my non-playing of PoP continues. Sent it back today to get a new one, will probably complete NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams while I wait for what's hopefully a brand new, sealed copy of PoP.
Oh and NiGHTS: JoD is very nice, I might add.

I sent the Play item back and they were out of the LE for good this time which resulted in a money refund. So, I took that money and ran over to www.game.net which have their own version of the LE which sadly doesn't include the skin unlocks nor the graphic novel, but instead the cover is actually a steelbook design. It's decorated with the same motif that the Play version has, but instead of hiding a normal box inside, this is the actual steelbook that looks like that. It's gorgeous and I'm quite satisfied. :D
And I recieved it today! Finally I'll be able to play this game properly. Ironically a GOTY list for 2008 wasn't to be this year either, I always come across some kind of nnsurmountable hurdles that prevent me from typing one up. I can say that both this and Banjo will position themselves in quite a competitive way in retrospect. I think Banjo is fantastic, and the little I played of PoP before I decided to get the LE left a very good impression aswell.
In a week or so I'll prolly be able to finally say my piece on Prince of Persia, however irrelevant my opinion may technically be by then. :D
