Loakum Ugh….scratch that previous comment. The upcoming Game of Thrones video game is a F’in mobile phone game. Why can’t they came an open world GoT game, like Witcher 3 or God of War? (> 3 Months ago)

Because if people going on about how easy it is simply refer to the way you get to re-do jumps with no punishment, then that won't bother me at all!
So the question is, to clarify; are jumps ever tricky? Have you guys actually borked a jump or a section of platforming?
The enemys seem to be very weak at first, but they get tougher when you healed about 1/8th of the fertile grouds. The last fight against the concubine took me about 6 mins because I didn't know all her attacks very well and my playing wasn't very good either. I guess the reason why it was so difficult is because I got straight to killing her before healing other fertile grounds and gain some experiance there.
Also the backtracking isn't as bad as it seems. After you heal the land the jumps are very diffrent most of the time. The corruption doesn't let you take certain routes and they are open once it's gone.
@Alimo: It was the small enemys I meant, the ones you can kill in a few seconds if you time your attacks right. And yes it was a bug. He changed his state again when I saved and reloaded the fight. But I thought it was VERY annoying that you couldn't grab him when you were SUPPOSED (as in the only way you could damage him at all) to grab him, I dodged all his attacks and when I tried to grab him he emidiately pushed me back again, actually every 20th time or so it worked out and I could pull of a combo. This is just poor gamedesign as I think this is due to the incline of difficulty of the enemys. I could grab them before almost every time without probems.
I don't care that they don't put you through game over screen, kicked to menu, load game, back in start of level. If I complete a section that is hard, that means I.. DID.
I mean there's certainly room for - and I even prefer - games that do kind of force you to do stuff properly in one complete go ala Megaman, but in this case I was under the impression that the game itself was mind bogglingly easy.
I am pretty much a pro at NG so you can think of how fast you have to think and do with difficaulties like VH or MN, so I have learned that.
I will tell you this, something Alimo said too, its a rental title, not a purchase, especially with the high price we got here in Sweden as you know.
But we can't go to a shop and rent like the US gamers can, so for us its difficault (unless you guys can also use the 10 days return policy).
But yeah I started to accept that its better for Elika saving you and bring you back to a stable ground than having loading, fading black or whatever coming at you.
Also the later in the game some, which are extremely rare and few will have some of those pressure platforming as Viginti mentioned, but like I said, its very rare that happens.
I would say go with your instincts on this one and some footage (not trailers) from people who play it at youtube, gives you a general idea of how it plays...just dont expect a huge overhaul.
But again for its art and visuals and music and *cough* characters, its worth to get atleast one time experience from it...try and rent it from a friend if they have it or go for a 10 days return policy haha.

I was an addict of challenging games as well as you Sath. But seeing what some devs have done recently... *cough*Ninja Gaiden 2*cough*, I'd rather play a relaxing beautiful game like POP rather than a frustrating one. I didn't even bother finishing gears 2 on insane... If you're the type who enjoys easy games like crackdown or viva pinata this game is for you. If you rather play CoD 4 on highest difficulty then this isn't for you. I know that if there wasn't Elika to save me that game would have lost A LOT of it's appeal and would just frustrate me with loading screens.
1. Healing grounds.
2. Backtrack and get lightseeds that does nothing after the few hundreds and its a chore after a while when you get all of Elikas power plates (and you will get trophy/achievement on your first playthrough, because its that easy to collect them).
3. Get all the trophy/achivement for the game which frankly is way too easy to get. I got like 60 percent or so on my first playthrough without knowing it, and I like I said before, not a collector unless it affects the gameplay for me.
I am not saying I want NG difficaulty (NG2 was shit bad), but even the way to control the prince could actually being more manually and precise with the jumping, grabbing would make it more difficault.
Games can be difficault without ramping the hardcore out of it like NG or anything.
Even with controls it can be difficault, but the way they made the prince very automatic in most cases, pretty much all to be honest makes it easy, I barely did any guiding.
I am not gonna say how easy this game is because I have already said it and there is no point of say it again.
I can say this though Viginti, I am with you about relaxing games and visually good looking as POP, but tell me this...why the lack of gameplay content?
It doesnt give you anything to play around with at all...what you see in the beginning is what you get in the end.
It does not feel like you are escalading in gameplay mechanic as the prince because of the lack of nothing to gain.
The gauntlet is the only thing that is something, but even that, nothing comes to use for only 2 things, grabbing the wall for wallslide or pushing the enemy up for different attacks.
This is suppose to be the next-gen Prince of Persia, which is a huge franchise, why the lack of most things.
They pretty much thought they can satistfy the gamers with 2 things...art/visuals and its "charm" and a story.
I just hope for the next PoP they actually do something with the gameplay and not so "automatic" for the prince, or else I wont even bother with it, which is a shame.

Got AiTD and Saints Row 2 off their nutty sale aswell, arrived today together with Sonic Unleashed Wii and Sonic Chronicles that a friend of mine picked up in a local store that had them crazy cheap.
So many games to play! :O
Banjo and Persona 4 for christmas aswell. I would've replied in the GOTY thread already if I felt like I've seen everything that's a likely candidate. Valkyria Chronicles has a good shot at topping a lot of things for me and I won't have time nor money for that until next year.

Two years in a row now I've written rediculously elaborate GOTY lists with categories, nominees and stuff, and both years I didn't finish them. :P
At least if I type five in that thread I've made SOME kind of GOTY list. :D

I'm sorry but that's not innovation that's called underestimating your audience.
Don't get me wrong I'm not saying this game is horrible or a waste of money. It's just the reasoning he gave in the interview:
"I think we could have done a better job in giving more challenge to those gamers who play a game to accomplish and achieve, rather than experience,
We talked a lot about it during development - multiple difficulty settings, etc. - but could not come up with a way to modify all aspects of the game - combat, acrobatics, trap difficulty - in a graceful and interesting way."
That in my view is a rather easy excuse.....

At the end of the day innovation doesn't necessarily equal a successful game on all fronts, but to say that PoP isn't doing something utterly unique at this point is kinda withholding deserved credit.
Actually, I think giving a high profile game this look is bold enough to warrant credit in its own right, but yeah.. prolly not innovative per se.
I ordered it off Play but I haven't gotten it yet so my view on this game are certainly subject to change, but I already feel that the things they've brought to the table with it - albeit not in their most balanced form perhaps (though this is what I can't judge at this point) - is fresh and unmistakably new.

I also find that the main gameplay component, the actual movement through the world, feels very mechanical and predetermined. There's no sense of exploration or accomplishment because you're really just doing timed button presses exactly where they want you to do them. It would have been nice if the areas were a bit more free-form and didn't rely on those stupid magic plates to move you around, and it was up to the player to figure out creative ways to make it through.
The combat wasn't appealing to me at all either. I appreciate that Ubisoft wanted to stray from regular hack'n'slash gameplay, but the result was more QTE-esque exercises in tedium.
Things that were done right? Elika saving the player from falls and what not is a very welcome change from the ubiquitous "die, sit through load screen, restart from point x" convention. The visuals are absolutely stunning as well. I wish they weren't wasted on this game though. A more epic, story-driven action-adventure with more identity give to different areas would have been killer.

Good in what way exactly I'll elaborate on further, but right now I'm a bit in a hurry.
Good in what way exactly I'll elaborate on further, but right now I'm a bit in a hurry.
at its core its still a relitively fun game, from a gameplay mechanics point of view at least. combat is easier, platforming is almost an on rails QTE event and then theres the fact you cant die (although thats forgivable since it is pretty much just a more fluid method of the pretty annoying "load a save point" you'd get in other games.
its the way the game itself is organised that i don't like, and assassins creed suffered from the same thing. the way you're forced to basically collect stuff (something i find to be an artificial way of extending a games length) or the way every area plays exactly the same as the last.
the game is essentially 'go to area, fight boss, heal area, collect stuff'. and thats it, that is the experence in a nutshell, and you repeate that same thing ~24 times.
its not a bad game, but it certainly isnt a good one either imo. even for 17.99 i wouldnt bother with it. its definately a good rental tho.
