Are you sure he hasn't? I say we quiz him :P

joking clearly :)
He says he hasn't :P He was only interested in the Star Wars characters, and wouldn't even download the demo unless they were included.. which.. they may have been for all I know.

Just say'n.. SCIV's character models are great, The Apprentice and Yoda included. Having seen Starkiller in this demo on my PS3, and SCIV on my 360, both on the same HDTV, I can see where wuffyx is coming from. He animates quite well in Soul Calibur too.

I'm still looking forward to playing it, anyhow, I'm not trying to be negative here. I just support Acert's analysis, and additionally, can see how people are percieving it as a a poor value. It's not to think of it in terms of other Star Wars games, which is what really brings MP into the discussion. Thanks Jedi Knight! I think I'll go play some Academy..

Oh, and Psi-Ops was fucking great, and handled a lot better too. Had a more shooter-like approach to how it controlled though.. but then again.. so does JK.

Strange, since it's the same design with a lot more detail.. also funny, since you haven't actually played SCIV.
Same design yes.
More detailed...no.
His face looks more blurred out, his face bone structure is not in good shape as TFU.

Besides, you don't know if i have played it or not, stop making shit up.

I played it at my cousins house last week on friday, he had Starkiller unlocked.
I watched HIM play because I wasen't interested in the game that much, so I wanted to see what he could do with Starkiller (very nice moves by the way).

I saw Starkiller in HD, and he doesn't look better than the TFU version.

I wasn't making shit up. You implied that you hadn't played it to everyone on this board multiple times. I didn't know you had seen it at a buddies, my bad, I made a poor assumption. But look, I was right, eh? You haven't played it.

You're wrong though, he's definitely more detailed in SCIV. More polygons, more detailed textures (and considerably more awesome clothing physics), and better animation. His facial animation is even better in Soul Calibur. You may prefer the TFU version for some, unknown reason, but it's not because the model actually has more detail.

"Blurred out"--hah.

You're being pretty defensive man. I actually like the game, but the moment anyone in this thread has been critical of any one of the games potential flaws.. you come out swinging. Don't take it personally, we've seen what happens, it's ugly.

Whats the damn difference if I havent played it or played it.
I saw it infront of my eyes running on my cousins console, I don't have to play the game just for the sake of Starkiller.

I didn't want to learn the moves to see how good he was, so I let my cousin do all the things he knew so I could enjoy the moves (which I did).

I am not getting defensive about this game, I am getting answering your comments against me.
I don't gain anything about defending this game.
I already decided to buy this game because I really liked the demo and know enough about the games gameplay features to drag me more into it.

That said.
You say SC4 models looks better? fine good for you.
I say the TFU's model looks better...simple as that.

About dismemberment, I still want it in the game, looks so much better, atually does what a lightsaber should do...cut "things".

In Jedi Academy, even the glow of the lightsabers looks MUCH better by far!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72dqMBaphhY

and

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ubVU0vY-Uk

and

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKUjqrez6QI

With the next-gen engine LA has now, they could refine the dismemberment better so it doesn't look clunky like those videos, but then the lightsaber combat would be much better.

I hope with so much fan complains about this type of feature, they add it on the PS3 and 360 version, would be awesome!

I really have to mention how exciting it is to finally have you posting here in a full 360 owner capacity, Acert. Although your musings "from afar" have always been interesting, reading considered gameplay impressions and whatnot is a true delight.
Lucky you I am in 480i (converted even, FSAA blur filter ftw!) so no graphic comments yet :P I am planning to do some post mortems on the two games I own, Halo 3 and Forza Motorsport 2 ... btw, I think I am gonna try to setup a time where all you pro gamers can whip me pretty good in FM2. Make me cry for all the boulet times haha

Sweet! Man, it is like $10 on Half.com, was on sale last week for $15 somewhere (check out dealigg, $20 at Buy.com right now I think).

I am seriously considering a thread for "Gamersyde Challenge" where we pick a game and parameters and a general meet up time to game with people here. I have a long weekend and would like to tag up on some FM2 this weekend with some folks. Yeah I SUCK. But give me a couple days on 2 or 3 set tracks and set stock cars and I should be at least servicable by the weekend.

Before you guys read any further, all this is my personal opinion of what I saw between these two versions!
----
Finally the 360 demo was free so I decided to give it a go.

I used PIP on PS3 and 360 for TFU and the 360 is so much darker.
A bit more texures here and there on the model, but it is so dark that it doesnt matter because you can't see much of it.

The PS3 has great textures as well (not that highly amount as the 360) but it is also brighter by default to see the detail, the textures, the environment...everything without making it washed out was great.
The floor looks definitely better on the 360 version, but it looks also like it is wet.

The 360 has too much dark and white spots, while the PS3 balances it out on both so it doesn't look, unbalanced.

The 360 version have a facial animation everytime you attack with the lightsaber that the PS3 dont have, which I find extremely odd and lazy on Lucasarts!

I personally prefer the PS3 version because in cutscene, PS3 has brighter and yet the same amount of great textures on the 360 has, but except for the floor details and facial animations for lightsaber combat.

I did turn up the brightness on the 360 up ALOT and it still looked too dark, but the colors and the white spots was out of place which made it worst.

But one thing i hate about the textures on the 360 is that they have overdone it so much that it looks ugly. They have overdone the texture quality so much, while the PS3 version has a smooth texture look that looks more natural and easy on the eyes.

Some parts it looks better on the PS3 than the 360, and vice versa.

I also noticed that right in the beginning of the first attack scene in the large room after you use Force Push to open the doors, there is a few seconds of dialogue going on, on the 360, while on the PS3, it doesn't have such a thing.

I hope they haven't lacked the amount of dialogue and all in the PS3 version, seems another odd thing.

I also used PIP on the trailer montage, and the PS3 is so much better looking overal (personal opinion here).
So mooth, easy on the eyes, brighter to see the detailed, but not too much to be all washed out, very good balance.

For example I freezed it when Starkiller was taking down the Star Destroyer...the PS3 version had CG feel to it, while the 360 was too dark to see much of the details of the scenery and had a bit more blurry look to it (not in a good way).

Anyway, I just wish Lucasarts did a better job on the floor details on the PS3 like they did on the 360, but it won't bother me much anyways.

But in the end I prefer the PS3 version.
It looks brighter to be able to see alot of the environment and extra touches and the textures is easy on the eyes and looks great.

And I have already gotten used to the PS3 controller so much in this game that i find the 360 be big and bulky and the buttons being to seperated for such a game.

I am just bummed that the PS3 version doesn't have facial attack animations and extra dialogue.

PS. The 360 lags behind in the cutscene. The sound is ahead by a few seconds than the PS3 version.
The PS3 version was smooth all the way.

Its only through the cutscene though.
For example in the beginning when Vader is talking to Starkiller, in the very beginning it lags. but when you are done playing the demo and goes into the trailer montage it lags behind the sound by a few seconds.
But if you let the trailer montage go on in the main menu it doesnt happen like that

But whatever platform anyone is picking up on PS3 or the 360, its gonna be awesome.

This isn't done by me, but this guy has the same thought I have on both versions (screenshots included).

They showed from the very beginning of the game (yes, even the Darth Vader gameplay) on 360...stopped after the Tie Fighter facility (ends with a jedi boss, big level too) which is your first mission as Starkiller.

Then they continued on PS3 on Raxus Prime, after that, they ended each console version (each level) with a Jedi fight...Raxus Prime was the coolest.

And I gotta say, the Jedi bosses was very cool, all their force powers was "unleashed", liked it alot.

Then after the Ps3 version, they showed the Wii version, back to the Tie Fighter level (I didn't watch the Wii version so much, but damn the animation for Starkiller is better on the Wii).

Now they showed the upgradeables in the game, except lightsaber and costumes because they didn't find any (except a green lightsaber crystal on the wii version, they switched it from red to green).

You can pretty much level up Force combos, talents, force powers...and there is a huge variety of options there that you can upgrade.

For example the guy who was playing (which was bad at the game btw), upgraded his lightsaber defense...meaning he could block and deflect pretty much every blasters coming at him...either manually or automatically, it was awesome.

It was kind of like Yoda in Revenge of the Sith when he and Obi-Wan deflects so many blasters from the stormtroopers to get to Anakin and Sidious, very cool.

In the demo we played, we had lightning, force push with a charge, a few lightsaber combos, lightsaber impale within force grip...etc.

In the full game, all those things are stripped away from you in the beginning.

You got no lighting, now impale...etc. nothing, and the lightsaber combos was extremely basic ones.

But the more stylishly you kill you get higher points, and you can find force points...etc. throughout the levels.

Once you level up, you can start upgrading them.

There is even a force dash you can gain.
Meaning if you force dash and press a button (they didn't say which button) you get like this force push along with it, kind of like a canon ball coming at the enemies.

There is also bonus objectives for each level.
Then each level is quite huge, so if you want those special items, like special lightsaber crystals, holocrons or even secret outfits...explore the levels as much as you can, I know i will.

Some enemies seemed very hard, like the ones at Raxus Prime.

Good thing the sound on the game wasen't that loud so I couldn't hear the dialogue, and I turned away from all the new cutscenes I didn't see, so I am spoiler free.

From what I saw in the upgrade menu for the force powers, combos...etc. it was a very large list on each section of them...I just loved it, gonna take some time and playthroughs to max out everything, and get all the unlockables like outfits and skins.

The guy also said that the 360 and PS3 plays and looks pretty much exactly the same.
The visual aspects are there if you are a visual geek to compare each pixel, but other than that, it's the same.
Gameplay wise, the same.

The only thing that sets them apart is that the PS3 has like 5-10 minute istallation for faster loading and 360 has achievements (that I personally don't care about), and he also said that the 360 version's video is behind the sound with like 2-3 seconds.

I noticed that in the demo too, quite bad.

But I have decided to pick up the PS3 version since day one anyways, and hopefully LA will add Trophies at some point, if not, no problem.

But after the marathon, I was absolutely in awe and hype for the game, really want it!
Just 2 more weeks and it's all mine :D

PS. they are gonna upload the marathon for those you missed it anyways, so look for that.

Blmbox...because that is what they are.

One person work on a website, they review it, upload it and people read it and add it to their "review for ??? game".

I rather take a normal gamer such as me and you and take that into account rather a website.

I only take website reviews if they have videos to back up the games flaws...but other than that, I just play the demo 8if there is any) or go with my gut, simple.
