Loakum Ugh….scratch that previous comment. The upcoming Game of Thrones video game is a F’in mobile phone game. Why can’t they came an open world GoT game, like Witcher 3 or God of War? (> 3 Months ago)
Loakum By FAR, the upcoming Game of Thrones King’s Road was the Game of the Show! It plays like God of War Ragnarok! :) (> 3 Months ago)

Since 7473 DaysIf the PS4 were guaranteed to have every game in the Xbox One's lineup at a cheaper price, then the decision would be clear, but it doesn't. I understand and respect where you're coming from, but I'm not willing to miss games because of a few unfavorable policies. I know lots of people are willing to do that, but then there's also lots of people who aren't willing to do that. It's currently the #1 selling videogame item on Amazon, and is breaking pre-order records that were set by the Xbox 360 in multiple places.
http://www.amazon.com/best-sellers-video-games/zgb...
All this on its own doesn't really mean much, as sales will fluctuate and we won't really have a good idea of what's what till about a year and 3 months into the sales of both these systems. I'm also sure there's probably many buyers that are completely ignorant of what the policies are on these systems, but whatever each individual buyer's reasoning, I can't very well fault people for just wanting to play games or for making choices that are complete their own. There's people that bought PS3's at $600 (raises hand, because I was one of them). There's also people who invested in an original xbox, when I thought the ps2 at the time was the far better value and that it absolutely slaughtered the original xbox in the game's department, but each person's choice is their own.
And it honestly isn't easy lol. I wish it were. It's not easy for me to willingly choose to miss the next Halo game. It isn't easy for me to ignore Remedy's next game. This isn't just an issue with Xbox. I simply do not have the willpower to not buy games or consoles that catch my interest or excite me. I'm one of those people that will buy an entire console for one game, and have. I bought my Wii for a single game. I bought a DS Lite for a single game. It's a tough habit to break cold turkey. If you could be diagnosed a drug addict for loving games too much, I'd be in prison.
Nothing in the PS4's launch interests me that much, and yet I have a ps4 pre-ordered based on promise alone. I bought the PS3 at launch at $599.99 based on the promise of FF versus 13 and an FF7 remake... Yea, I know lol.

MS has about 5% of the vote.
I saw a comment that I agree with and I will add my own:
PS4Life
1. Cheaper
2. Much more powerful.
3. No draconian anti-consumer DRM scheme.
4. No 24-hour mandatory check-in.
5. No mandatory smart camera snooping on you.
6. Bigger and better game library.
7. Better online value with PS+.
8. No region lock.
9. Upgrade-able HDD
10. Smaller and better looking console design.
11. No arrogant company PR.
My Notes:
1. Cheaper (Eyetoy is a $60 addon)
2. A bit more powerfully spec'd. On paper 50% more powerful
6. Bigger and better game library. Totally a BS statement, remains to be sen,
but Sony is doing a big indie developer push and MS could care less it seems.
7. Better online value with PS+. I kinda agree. Better sale prices and more freebies.
9. Upgrade-able HDD Moot to a point. Both allow external USB storage drives.
10. Smaller and better looking console design. I prefer Xbox One's Design.
11. No arrogant company PR. This is what hurt Sony in this current gen, they seem to have learned.
Here are my own:
12. PS4 packs headset. MS Xbox one... all new tech, you'll need to purchase a new headset for Xbox One.
13. Rumor is Sony legacy steering wheels will work with PS4.
Rumor for Xbox One... all new tech, requires new purchase (rumor only)
14. Falls under DRM... No renting games on Xbox One, but you can rent PS4 games.
Before E3 I was think about me purchasing PS4 vs. Xbox one - 80% sure I'd get Xbox One at launch.
During E3, after MS conference 60% sure I'd get Xbox One.
After Sony Conference 50% sure I'd get Xbox One.
Had some more time to think about it... 40% sure I'd get an Xbox one at launch.
I am almost certain, I'll own both consoles 100% sure of that... but I think I'll wait for a price drop on hardware, or
for MS to make some big changes between now and launch.

If that 25 to 1 edge had any basis in reality, there's no way the Xbox One could be leading the PS4 right now on Amazon's best seller for videogames list. Although, in fairness, the PS4 had the lead for a moment there, too. But for the Xbox one to be out front like that at all, it's obviously not doing 25 to 1 levels of bad.

Since 6106 DaysThe explosive set-pieces shown so far — one on a bridge being struck by an ocean liner, the other in an office being struck by a downed drone — are spectacular and overwhelming, echoing films like Inception.
And yet, over the course of a 30-minute presentation with the game's creators, one seemingly inconsequential aspect seemed the most astonishing: the mouths. What happens between the chin and the nose of the virtual lead characters of Quantum Break borders on lifelike. The lips purse and curl against the teeth, the teeth clinch down and the jaw lunges forward.
"The first thing we do when we hire an actor," he says, "is we send them to the dentist to get dental molds." These are then digitized and implanted into the skulls of their digital representations.
This attention to detail is part of a system the company calls the "Northlight Engine."
The obsession with human minutiae borders on the unsettling, but the result — an emotive, lifelike virtual face — is a significant improvement, Lake says, "from the static, constipated face of [the original] Max Payne." Remedy Entertainment, Lake explains, needs the most realistic virtual characters possible, because they will be starring alongside their real-life counterparts.

Since 7449 DaysIt's one thing to attempt to marry the retail and digital worlds and do something with license transfers but another to make such a hash of it. Have an offline mode like Steam and a menu option for lending/trading in games. They would be copping it still I'm sure but no nearly as bad.

Prepare To Drop!!
Since 7510 DaysThe first comment about the Prisoner's Dilemma is spot on. Here's how I like to think it went down:
Kaz Hirai and Steve Ballmer sit in a room. Dark. Smoky. The men look each other in the eye. "It's agreed. We'll kill pre-owned. Both platforms. DRM to the max," grates Ballmer.
Hirai reaches for his glass. He swirls the liquid. Savours the peaty aroma of an Islay malt. Crosses his fingers. Takes a sip.
"Yes," he says.
In the Sony boardroom, Andrew House confronts Hirai. "I can't believe you're letting Microsoft get a march on us. You're *letting* them have their press conference first. We should be first. We need to get our message out to consumers."
Hirai reaches for his cup. He feels the warmth of the sake against his fingers. Takes a sip.
"Wait," he says.
Hirai sits in a hotel room in Los Angeles. On a 50" screen, he watches Don Mattrick on stage, presenting the restrictions for Xbox One. He reaches for a pot of tea. He pours the aromatic water into a china cup. Takes a sip.
"Gotcha," he says.
