Some Titainfall info:
Speaking with IGN, Zampella confirmed that when Respawn signed with EA neither party had Microsoft exclusivity for Titanfall in mind, but that Windows 8-based cloud computing proved attractive to the studio.

“It allowed us to think of the game a little differently,” he said, and added that the game offloads enemy and friendly AI to the cloud, along with dedicated servers. The end result is more natural NPC enemies, and smoother online play that seamlessly blends single and multi-player into a world that feels both organic and populated.

However, Zampella re-iterated his caution around cross-play between PC and Xbox formats, due to the speed advantage given to keyboard and mouse players. We reported on this stance last week as well, and it seems like things won’t change in the immediate future.

Regardless he said of cross-play, “I mean, we’ll see. If it turns out to be less of an issue than I think it is, then, well … we’ll obviously look at it, but I’m not convinced yet.”

Saturday some dude that came here to set up a printer asked me " So whats up man have you seen that new xbox? looks neat right"

I felt the fucking obligation to tell him that Microsoft will fuck him over if he buys it.

And then I continued to explain him everything, when all was clear to him he no longer wanted one.

Consumers don't always know what's rigth to them, shit will hit the fan after release with people returning that crap when they realize whats going on.
Exactly, this is why I am pointing out to people what has changed, because you can bet your ass Microsoft won't be telling them prior to purchase.

Here we go with the cloud nonsense again...

People dont seem to get one thing which is that no Single Player game will look any differently or play any differently because of the cloud because all single player games must be allowed to be played offline except for when you need to validate your copy so lets end that argument right here.

during online multiplayer, it's a different story and even then, the differences will be minimal at best if there is anything implemented that can make use of this miraculous cloud. Quit bullshiting yourselves please.

What a mess has Microsoft created...boy am I glad I am not getting their console.

i wouldn't count on it being magically better. you can still have a lot of issues. just look at the BF3... that has dedi servers, and you still get disconnects and lag (on consoles anyway) the biggest benefit is no more host advantage.

Yeah, it's complete nonsense. Oooh, dedicated servers! That's impossible without the power of the cloud!

This game is only possible on Xbox One. Oh, and 360 lolz!

Titanfall is the new Gears of war for Microsoft's next gen console. i.e. Respawn will spit out whatever bullshit microsoft feeds to them as long as $$ are stuffed down their pockets..pretty much the same Blezinscki, Molyneux and co. used to do for the xbox 360 and David Jaffe for Sony.

The 360 version is going to a 3rd party company (which they have not even hired yet), and the dev stated expect that verson to be downgraded, i'm not convinced on how effective this Cloud stuff will be, so i am also very interested to see a before and after type video, otherwise its all pie in the sky stuff.

It also seems to be a free game that just gets expanded upon with DLC and such, but it looks like it comes with a lot of stuff right off the bat. I definitely wouldn't mind creating my own fun little game from this.

Spark looks cool, i guess, but i imagine it will be rather limited in the end. I don't see why anyone actually interested in making games should get this over something like Construct 2 or something similar. Though, i suppose that if you are looking for more of a toy and less of an actual tool, then this might be just right.

I'm not especially sold on anything cloud-related, but why is it impossible or even improbable that a SP game that IS connected couldn't benefit from the "cloud?" I mean, i get that SP games must be allowed to be played offline, but why couldn't there be a "cloud"-enhanced aspect to it? I know it's a huge deal for a lot of people to require the 24 hour connectivity, but barring some kind of outtage, most people will be online all the time anyways.

It HAS gotten ridiculous around here lately. Not GaF ridiculous mind you, but the pedantic criticism of anything Xbox One related is an easy observation to make.
Of course it cuts both ways with other users looking to justify every MS move as not so bad or in some way good (even if it is worse than what we have now or the competition is offering).

Anyone who doesn't think MS has made some serious miscalculations in regards to their former core enthusiast consumers is not really hearing their complaints. But it is also clear MS, like Nin last gen, has a different idea who a core user is now.

Also, in defense of Gamersyde, many of the users here are in areas Xbox One will NOT support (GET A 360--says Don) or in a territory where the US centric features are irrelevant. Put that together with MS's blunders and the fact they want more for less in regards to HW (and the odd focus on Kinect 2 but pushing out a standard controller that fails to maximize Kinect) and ... oh come on, you don't see why this machine, on an HD game video webiste / core gamer / international forum is getting slammed???

MS is clearly under delivering to this demographic AND has a higher price point. What is so hard to understand about that?

Whoa hold on a minute. Look I know everybody is pissed off at Microsoft right now, and I understand the need to be critical...........but I also feel it necessary to be clear that I DIDN'T build the Xbox One. And I didn't build the controller that doesn't maximize Kinect. I wasn't in the room with Don&Co when they decided how they would push US centric features or not support certain regions at launch. I'm not responsible for their miscalculations or their PR blunders. I can't make them listen to you, me or any core enthusiast.

All I mentioned was that tone here has become a too peevish. You clearly disagree, but I can't help that. 99.9% of this community already agrees with you, my voice joining that chorus means nothing. My opinions of what I think is legitimate outrage vs blown out of proportion are not shared by the majority of participants here either. So what do you want to hear? That I understand THAT? I already did. How could I not? I've been listening to these arguments in here for months now, MONTHS.

Take a look at this Ace. More importantly, read the response to this news-
Rumor - Steam to Allow Game Borrowing

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=59560...
Very positive isn't it? Although I don't expect anyone will ever actually give Microsoft (if the rumor is true) any credit, but it still makes for a nice chuckle. One of Microsoft's accursed policies is adopted by Valve all things. Now it becomes a good thing. Gamers can be so funny. There are few other noteworthy policies that could be adopted just as warmly (selling and gifting digital games etc), it would be nice if the Xbox Chief knew how to articulate them without with his condescending tone.

And just so you know, I have no problem admitting that I was disappointed and puzzled by Microsoft's engineering choices. You think I don't recognize the creative math games they're playing now? 10x this or, 8x that? It wouldn't surprise me if we later learn that the majority of the Xbox One's R&D budget went to Kinect (and it's space photons) and that the gaming hardware was a last consideration that will barely make it in time for launch. And I DO cringe everytime I see Mattrick's name in some article, wondering what stupid thing he's going to say next.

I know that it's not good that someone with his attitude is the head of a game platform division and publishing tent. But I've observed enough corporations over the years to know that those things tend to take care of themselves. If he screws things up he will be asked to resign, or eventually he will just move on the same way the last 3 heads of the Xbox Division did. These people rarely ever remain in their positions for very long. And we might even get a more gamer centric chief that puts the core demographic first.
