GSY Video PS5

More PlayStation 5 Pro coverage today with Capcom's Dragon’s Dogma 2, Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 4 Remake and Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, but also Final Fantasy VII Rebirth by Square-Enix and Alan Wake 2 from Remedy. We still have quite a lot of games to take care of but we'll keep providing you with content on a regular basis until we're done. As you'll see, FFVII Rebirth shows the most significant improvements over the base PS5 version, but the sequel to Alan Wake also shows better visuals and image quality overall, though there's still some noise and artefacts to be seen.

The free update bringing VR to Resident Evil 4 Remake is now officially available so we took our PlayStation VR 2 and recorded the first twenty minutes of the adventure. Just like in Village, it clearly requires some getting used to as loading a weapon takes more time in VR as it's meant to be more realistic. Visually, the game looks great and from what we've seen, it runs very smoothly.

If you only played the Gamecube version of Resident Evil 4 back in the days, you probably have never played the short extension which was added in the PlayStation 2 port. As it was missing from Resident Evil 4 Remake when it was released, it was pretty obvious it would come later as a DLC. Unsurprisingly, Separate Ways has just been added to the game but if you're curious to discover Ada Wong's side of the story, you will first have to put your money down as this four-hour adventure costs $9.99/9.99€/7.99 £GB. If you're still wondering whether or not you should purchase it, check out our gameplay video of the PlayStation 5 version running in resolution mode with ray tracing on.

The embargo on Resident Evil 4 Remake now being lifted, we can finally share some gameplay footage that is not limited to the demo or another very short sequence that has Leon face the Garrador boss. We chose a few extracts mean to showcase gameplay more than anything else so you won't see any cutscenes. As it seemed to run fine in the few selected sequences we chose, we opted for the resolution mode without ray tracing.

As you probably know, Capcom relased a demo for Resident Evil 4 Remake yesterday night so we captured it on PS5 to show you the Performance mode. Note that we also activated ray tracing as it can now be done separately whatever the graphics mode you choose. As we're having issues with our mirrors again (and/or our stream), we can only provide you with the YouTube version of the video. Sorry about that.

Yesterday was Sony PlayStation's first State of Play of 2023 and we have gathered all the trailers which came out (on YouTube mostly) so you have them all in one place. As usual, the two Capcom videos are also available in high quality and so should the two videos showcasing Suicide Squad if we can manage to upload them eventually.

Yesterday's Resident Evil Showcase allowed Capcom to announce that Resident Evil 4 Remake will be available on Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC on March 24 2023, so very soon. They revealed a story trailer that is thankfully available in a HQ downloadable version. If you don't have the time to get it this way and you can't wait for our stream to be ready, we've added the YouTube version too.
