GSY Retro: Remembering PGR 4

After about 8 months playing next gen titles, we asked ourselves a very simple question: what if Project Gotham Racing 4 were to be released now? Seven years after shipping on Xbox 360, Bizarre Creations' iconic title still looks gorgeous and includes many features that next gen racing games haven't even included yet, like a full weather system for example. Let's go back in time for a few laps thanks to our fresh batch of videos of one of the best games of the 360 era.

PGR4 content pack released

Bizarre Creations today put online a package of Downloadable content on Xbox Live for Project Gotham Racing 4. We have two videos of the new tourist mode and the free car, Peugeot Flux, and more information about the content can be found on Bizarre's website.

PGR4: Snowy gameplay

As a way to help you wait for the return of our Mass Effect videos, here is a bit more gameplay of Project Gotham Racing 4 I had filmed last week during the game's presentation. Looks like it's a tad slippery!
Update: Second video from this presentation is now online, this time in Quebec. Also some informations on how the corners are now done in the city compared to PGR3.

Gamersyde No Comment: PGR4 audio design

While Snoopers is on his way to Tokyo (bastard!), I'm the one who will have to try to have you guys entertained with the videos I filmed while I was at Bizarre Creations last Thursday. I'm definitively not as good as this guy with the editing so I hope it will be good enough. For this first video we'll take a look at the game's audio design with Bizarre's audio manager, the very enthusiastic Nick Wiswell.
The video is in standard resolution because even our excellent new cameras struggle with such bad light conditions. Also worth mentioning is that the build used during this demonstration wasn't as optimized as the others, and you may notice some slowdowns that definitively weren't there in the latest version we got to play.
