ACE the way you wrote you knew exactly what you were talking about.

KORN, sorry if i didnt mention it, but I meant in MP.

It has happened to me were I have been lasting so long in a match that both my primary and secondary became rusty and blew in my hands and all I had was my machete.

So not being able to pick up weapons from dead bodies is absolutely stupid.
In the end I pretty much went in the open to get killed so I could start over again so I could get my weapons back.

And another problem i got is that why they didnt they let us be able to unlock weapons by diamonds and actually keep the weapons in MP?

In each round you have to fight your way up and rank up everytime to gain new weapons, annoying.

Dude, dont blame it on your english, your english is fine and like Sath said you knew exactly what you were saying and that's what I meant by speak some sense because what you said in terms of comparing FarCry to GTA is simply nonsense with all due respect. Labelling Crysis as a tech demo is just as silly.

You are a comedian.

If this is GTA clone, what do you call Crysis then?

No offence but stick with JRPGs.
Crysis is nothing like this game. Crysis isn't a giant sandbox, it's a mission/level driven campaign that exists in a series of little sorta-sandboxes. It has a crazy story, a narrative, and tons of character. These are all things that FC2 lacks completely.

If you've played the Crysis demo or something I could see how you could mistake it for a sandbox, but it's not. The levels are just gigantic.

crysis is tech demo for pc
LOL--You obviously haven't played Crysis. Crysis is the best FPS campaign released in the last year. Far Cry is far more of a tech demo than Crysis is, and ya know what? It's still a game. And that's not even getting into Warhead, which is far more adrenaline (lolx2).

Please, stop posting in this thread. You're only going to make it worse.

I think the comparison to GTA is actually pretty fair. Labeling Crysis a tech demo may be ignorant (there's no other word for it), but FC2 does attempt some of the same sort of things as GTA. FC2's problem is that it lacks the story and mission variety of GTA--it doesn't have much to do with the lack of a radio (lolx3).

The game starts off pretty great imo, but it gets dull after a while. I think I'll return to it soon.. but I don't know what the inspiration is. The sense of exploration is grand, at least, at first.. and it's really the only thing that drives you forward. You want to keep playing to unlock weapons and.. well.. that's pretty much it.

Grift, i played a few minutes at my cousins house now and then, so I thought it was a sanbox like game, but you obviously played it more than me so I guess I have to accept what you say.

In terms of character, art, story...etc. I prefer Crysis in general than FC2, it just looks and feels good.

The MP isnt all that fun, i even tried to force myself to like it for a few hours, but I just can't.
I was counting MP side of FC2 would be so good that it would make me keep the game. But i will return it while its in the return policy range.

I seriously wish Crytek pulls a Crysis universe for PS3 as rumors was around, i just like the atmosphere, the art, and nano suit, the gameplay...etc. Hopefully they will bring a good sci-fi FPS to consoles in the future.

Crysis isn't sandbox though. It has a few levels that are fairly open but the majority of the game is linear.
Hmm...Oh wait, I'm not a mod.

Well the levels aren't completely linear either. They're fairly open which makes the gameplay pretty dynamic in how you can approach objectives. There are also secondary objectives, etc. It's definitely more open than say, Halo, which I've seen it compared to on more than one occasion. I love Crysis though, the "tech demo" bullshit that people spew from their uninformed mouths is nothing short of hilariously wrong. It has great gameplay, dynamic gameplay, and yes it also happens to be a beautiful game to look at.

I like Far Cry 2, too.. but it just lacks any real depth or sense of involvement in its otherwise amazing world.

Grift, didnt you think the aiming and shooting for Crysis was a bit loose? or was it just me :(

I didnt play it that much to get a real full feel of the game but the aiming and shooting felt a bit too loose for me (played with the 360 controller though), like if the weapon didnt have any weight on it.
Next time if I ever get to play I am gonna ask him if I can play with mouse and keyboard.

But yeah from what I have played and seen Crysis is awesome, and they made Warhead better.

I practically begged my cousin to let me play the multiplayer part of the game just to see how it plays out but the bastard said "okay soon"...but he never did.

But from what I have seen and played a bit of Crysis and alot of Far Cry 2...I choose Crysis.
I am biased a bit though because its futuristic :)

Fair enough if you think that FarCry 2 plays a little bit like GTA and I apologize to ACE but his comment was a bit extreme in comparing the two. I still havent played FarCry2 but what I have seen of it (and that was a lot) it didnt seem like GTA ... oh well, I guess I'll have to play and find out.

Crysis, I want to play so bad, but my PC is quite outdated and to be honest, I dont have the cash to invest on my PC right now, the 360 is just absorbing all my money.

I don't really like Crysis Wars that much.. and no.. the aiming doesn't feel "loose" but then again I'm not sure how that would even be possible with a mouse. Enemies do take quite a few bullets to take down, like Far Cry 2, head shots are very important in that game.

The difference between Crysis and Warhead is also pretty interesting. Granted you can play either game stealthy or you can go all-out, but in Warhead it seems to favor ballsy action over stealth. At least that's how I played it.

I prefer Warhead, but it's very, very short. I can't wait for the next campaign.

I still hope to go back to FC2. I like the weapons in the game just fine. The AK47 is pretty awesome, but I seem to be attracted to it in just about every FPS I play. Those Russians sure know their guns.

@alimokrane: It's more like GTA than Crysis.. but only as it's a sandbox game. I actually think it's a bit more like Mercenaries than GTA really. But honestly, if a car radio is the only thing it's missing it would be a far better game :)

Well I havent played Warhead so I cant comment on that, I have played Crysis for a few times, taking play shifts with my cousin, but I thought the aiming was a bit...loose. It didn't feel like it had any weight on it, I dont know someting about the aiming didnt feel like for me.

I hated the fact how many damn bullets it took for the enemies to die in Far Cry 2, and Crysis had the same, but yeah, make sure you aim at the head and not the legs :P

When it comes to weapons, I prefer the military based weapons more, the modern ones, G36C or a M4 Carbine, unless the weapons are ficitional of course like Gears or Halo then its a different play.

I would definitely play Crysis more than any game, if I had a PC that could run it very good or it was on PS3 (rumors be damned *sad*).

So far the only FPS I am looking forward to own and play ALOT is Killzone 2...I have to settle with R2 for now (comes out next week I think in EU).

Crysis has crazy fictional weapons too. The Gauss gun is awesome.

I'm not really sure I understand the whole weight thing. Why would you feel "weight" while aiming? Maybe it just lacks consoley things like camera adhesion and auto-aim, which would make it feel drastically different than most FPS you'd play on a game pad.

I'll never get over the tech demo thing. It's awfully ignorant. The game has really well thought out missions, a narrative with awesome characters, cut scenes with great voice acting and animation.. and on top of that, great gameplay. If you honestly think that Crysis is a tech demo, then you just don't know what a tech demo is (or a game, for that matter). Here's a hint: It's something you play, and Crysis delivers that experience along with the motivation to keep you playing.. It's not just a game, it's a great game.

That's actually one of the (many) things that Far Cry 2 lacks--a motivating, driving force that makes you want to keep playing. FC2 has a pretty non-existent story, with absolutely no narrative, and some very repetitive missions. There is some variety in the gameplay itself, but it's sparse, and the mechanics of movement and combat dumb in relation to the vastness of the landscape.

I am bad at describing exactly what I mean :(

The aiming felt like when you moved the analog or mouse, the movement will come a bit later...man that explainantion sucked hahah, sorry.

Yeah I have seen youtube videos of cool alien weapons, if I remember correctly one of them being some sort of a energy beam, huge weapon you can pick up.

When I am going to my cousins place again I am gonna ask him if I can play Crysis more than 20 minutes with mouse and keyboard and see how the aiming feels.

It's more of an ice beam. The other high tech weapons aren't alien in origin though, they're just high tech military gear. The Gauss gun is my favorite. The shotgun is also pretty badass if you just want to blast your way through a bunch of baddies. Using your suits stealth is nice, even when the action gets heavy, but running into a group of soldiers with your suit set to speed with a shotty is pretty empowering too.

Your description isn't all that bad, it sorta sounds like you're experiencing some kind of input lag. I don't know why, and no I've never experienced that in Crysis. Make sure acceleration/smoothing is off too. The input in Crysis is plenty quick and precise. I don't know how well it works with a pad, but it has built in support and radial menus for all of the nanosuit options so I would suspect that they meant for it to work well.

Girft you should know by now I am a fan of assault rifles. In no FPS game I have ever used shotgun, unless it was absolutely neccessary like no more ammo or other weapons to pick up.

My cousin isnt a gamer though, but his PC has enough power to run Crysis because he is a graphics junky :P
So that means, he isnt so much far into Crysis so I didnt get to play around with top notch high tech weapons.

This is one of the reason why I like Crysis gameplay...because its sci-fi you, you can play around with the nano suit and change your gameplay when you want, same goes with the weapons.

Like adding reflex scope, to sniper scope, or EOTech scopes, silencers...etc. the weapons are great on each situation you are in.

I will ask him if I can change the aiming sensitivity.
I even told him that Crysis must be played with mouse and keyboard because that is how the game was designed, not with controller.

So, I finally started playing this game this last week end and I must say: I am impressed.

The atmosphere, the music, the graphics Pure joy! I love how nonlinear-ish it is and I think this is where ubisoft's Open World design philosophy really works well.

making buddies, tackling optional missions and side quests in a shooter was
strange at first but it's making a lot of sense now and flows really well. I'm glad I did not pass on this one. I am currently playing on the highest Difficulty setting and it's quite hard. the only complain I have so far is a rather Dumb AI sometimes.

I seriously doubt it. I think repetition is not much of an issue when all you're doign is shooting people. I dont think it's a big deal for a shooter to be honest.

I'll report back when I am at 15 hours though ;)

its not the shooting that gets repetative, objectives are repeated a stupid number of times, and objectives take place in the same areas over and over and over. i played for about 10 hours before i had enough, and in that time i visited this train yard are about 12 times doing either the same thing or slightly different things.

for me far cry 2 is exactly why no game should put realism before fun...i mean, i cant speak for everyone, but driving 20 minutes through what is essentially a desert and having to repair your car ever 5 minutes due to those bastard respawning outposts just isnt very fun....and thats just getting from objective to objective.

one of, if not THE most boring FPS's i've ever played. right next to pefect dark zero in terms of sheer dissapointment.

on the plus side it looks pretty and the fire propergation was interesting for a little while, but that isnt enough to make playing such a boring game for 40 hours worth while.

It's not. Well, it is, and it isn't. There are a lot of things that I admire about Far Cry 2. That in itself is pretty surprising, since I'm a pretty hardcore Ubi-Hater (biggest gaming sweatshop in the world!), and had very little expectations for this game. Maybe that aided my perception of Far Cry 2 ultimately. It's a half decent shooter. It's fun for a while, but it begs for more variety. It sorta feels unfinished. I guess they spent way too much time focusing on the technology and not the actual game. Flawed but worth trying.

Crysis is way fuckin better though.
