Since 7519 DaysI think that's an amazing feature ...
1) So how can you share games that are installed to your hard drive? Or do you actually install your game to the cloud?
2) Are family members leeching your games from the cloud or from the hard drive?
3) Is it like OnLive service that streams those shared games from the cloud? Streaming from the same place you can buy them.
4) Are family members just streaming or do they have to install those games to their own consoles? Games that they can't use if there are many people using that shared library.
Xbox One is not for me, but I am curious.

Xbox One is not for me, but I am curious.
2) They are gaining access to your game via the cloud if you give them permission to access games you've decided to share. (Also doesn't have to be family, can be friends miles and miles away)
3) & 4) No streaming, you download and install the actual game to your own xbox through the cloud and play it from your hard drive, as if you actually own it, too.
Lastly, you can give up to 10 people permission to play your shared games, but only one among those 10 can be connected and playing at any one time. For example, if you have Halo 5, and you are sharing Halo 5 with friends, it isn't impossible that one of those friends accessing your shared games can also play Halo 5 at the exact same time that you're also playing Halo 5. So it's literally a way to let people borrow your games without actually giving up your ability to still play your game whenever you want. The person accessing the shared game, however, has to maintain an internet connection at all times, because they aren't the actual true owner of the game.

Since 7447 DaysBut I dont see MS supporting this idea, nobody ever needs to buy a damn game again if they are added to one friend. When they are finish they message them when they are done so they can take over the game.
Besides, if say I have a game and i share it with 5 friends, and none of them know eachother at all, it would be difficult for them to keep track who is playing at what time unless you like to be a messageboy.
Yeah this is what Sony did first but narrowed it down, watch MS do the samething.

Well, keep in mind, it's still only 2 people at a time (one of which is the actual original owner of the games), so there may not even be a need to narrow it down at all. It's already been narrowed down by limiting it to just a single person among a potential 10 at any given time. So it would seem Microsoft maybe already learned the lesson that Sony learned on the PS3, where seemingly countless people could all be accessing the same copy of a digital game.
On knowing whether the share slot is free for use or not, that could be solved by some kind of icon notifying everyone that the slot in this person's share is currently occupied by someone else, meaning it would make no sense to try and connect right now. That's one of the benefits of the live tile user interface. There could be a tile that is updating this information in real-time, letting you know when there's an open spot in the share.

Since 7519 Days-->family member 1 can play game #2 at the same time.
-->family member 2 can play game #3 at the same time.
-->family member 3 can play game #4 at the same time and so on?
One family member can play the same game as you.
And two family members can't play for example game #2 at the same time.
Am I getting this? If so, then it certainly is better than nothing. But scheduling different games with different family members is a hassle. And downloading and installing games that you may not be able to play is not ideal.

Since 7473 Days-->family member 1 can play game #!, #2, #3 or #4 at the same time.

One family member can play the same game as you.
And two family members can't play for example game #2 at the same time, but they also can't be playing two different games in the same person's shared library at the same time either. There's only one shared game slot available to either of the 10 family members. The only thing the family members can do at the same time is simply exist on the same shared games list together, but two or more can't be playing games in that list simultaneously. One true owner + one family member at a time only.

Since 5771 DaysYou can share with 10 ppl in your family list.
You can share with a person A and can play with him online too. He simply downloads the whole game on his console. Has to be online every hour so it can check the game is shared with only A
You can share with A only once. So if he deleted it or you want to share with B on your family list then A gets blacked out.
So now B becomes A. I believe you can play with B now too. Likewise with C, D ... till max of 10
This obviously mean all have boradband and gold membership. Also the family list cannot be changed. I do not think it is possible to remove someone and add someone else instead. This works only for disk based game. Not all games will support this feature.

You can share more than once with anybody on the list. There's no limit on how many times you can share with any of your "family" members. There's two rules: Only one member of the family at any given time. And for any family member to access your shared games library, they must have internet access and be connected to xbox live. Yes, you can add and remove someone as many times as you like on your family list. As of now there's no gold membership required, but it's hard to say whether or not that will change. It would be wisest to not block this feature behind a gold subscription.

Since 7519 DaysBeing able to share over a long distance is of course a plus in Xbox One version. And sharing one game simultaneously. And yes, sharing with just one people is the way to go. They can then share game purchases 50/50 and know that they can access the games. Even that simultaneous game if the internet connection is OK.
Thank you for clearing things up.

Someone needs to do a video or explain exactly how this works. It might actually be good if all you need to good broadband.
Since 7453 DaysI'm done trying to convince Sony gamers that they're eventually going to have accept the same scenario. I simply can't comprehend how they still believe that a publisher/developer is going to use the restrictions on X1 and then not apply them to the PS4. Sony's remarks at E3 do not amount to blanket policy for the entire industry, and it's funny that no one bothered to notice that NOT ONE SINGLE PUBLISHER came out with a statement of support for those remarks. NOT ONE.
Since 7581 DaysAnd for now, is simply wrong. Instead of hoping for the best case scenario you are simply hoping the competition is just as bad.

Gotta say, the more I hear about Ryse, the more I like.
Those prompts that show up during combat are now confirmed to be something the player can choose to disable entirely and just go purely based on the visual tells in the combat animation to determine which button press might be required to earn a bonus of some sort. It's similar to Gears of War's quick reload system, where you had a little reload mini-game where if you got the timing just right, you'd reload quicker. In Ryse, if you get the inputs correct, you receive a number of different bonuses or rewards for doing so. So, it's combat finisher mini-games for bonus rewards. Also, this is yet another place to confirm that Crytek did in fact decrease the hit points of the enemies in the demo, which made killing them with a finisher appear a lot quicker than might have otherwise been the case under more ordinary circumstances. Either way, for the first 5 minutes or so of the vid they're talking strictly about Ryse, and both guys seem to have come away pretty impressed with what they saw behind closed doors.

And as I've already said, I'm done arguing with anyone who still doesn't think that this will become standard policy for the industry. Come to terms with it or continue to shake your fist at the air. Sony's announcement last Monday got everyone pumped but what we should have been doing was paying attention to how the industry reacted to it, NOT gamer reaction. What I now recognize is that gamers celebrated too soon, the industry isn't feeling any compulsion to change course. This is something the industry wants after all, a fact that the gaming press has glaringly avoided to discuss. They've placed all ownership on Microsoft when they know devs/publishers have been extremely vocal about these issues. Don't you also find it interesting that they aren't asking publishers what they intend to do? All last week I looked very carefully for any signs that the publishers would back up Sony's remarks. I found none.
Then I stepped back for a moment and realized that I've been gaming this way on PC for years now. I haven't raged on Valve or called for the end of PC gaming. I haven't boycotted any publishers or chastised anyone who bought a game I didn't like. So why are so many people holding this torch for Microsoft when these kind of policies already exist for Desktop and mobile platforms?
And Microsoft's policies really aren't that bad. Anyone will be able to play your games on your X1. Simple. You go over to your friend's house, sign in, play the disc or download the game and now you and friend are playing. You can have up to 10 friends playing your games. You can GIVE the game away to one of your friends to own with no fees, this even INCLUDES your digital games as well.
If Microsoft takes more time to explain these options to gamers, alot of this noise will die down. But it's going to die down eventually.

The Xbox One is a digital console. It's a PC with none of the power, versatility, extensive back catalog, forward compatibility, or cheaper games. All of the downsides with none of the benefits. And the games you purchase in store aren't actually games at all. Think of them as iTunes gift cards vs actual CDs.
I asked Optimus which he would rather get from me as a gift - A used Xbox 360 game disc or a used Xbox One game disc. To call those Xbone code voucher's game discs is a mistake. They should be hung at the grocery store check out aisles on paper cards instead of wasting the plastic. Be eco friendly Microsoft!
Eh, 3rd console curse strikes again. And always the same way, arrogance.
Concede the position over DRM, mitigate the PR damage and get back to business. A mistake doesn't have to become a failure unless you choose not to fix what's wrong. How will stubbornness help them? They've got Billions riding on this thing.
You have a funny way of posting GrimThorne. I never know what you actually believe from one minute to the next. So you believe they're showing arrogance and are doomed to fail, yet you think the industry is going to prevail in this? Make up your mind.

Since 6106 DaysI talked to the 'on-site' Microsoft representative there about some of the issues, here's a rundown of some of the interesting things he said:
1. In the family/friend circle, concurrent play is allowed on the same game. Say I get battlefield 4 and put it in my share. 1 person can play it with me, single player and/or multiplayer.
2. The other 9 people no longer have access to my shared library until that person is done playing.
3. Every person within the group can make their shared games available, so if 5 people in the group buy battlefield 4, the other 5 can play concurrently through other 'shared libraries' in the group. This way, everyone gets to play.
4. (this one tidbit was REALLY interesting) Let's say you have battlefield 4 in your family share circle, and you pick up halo 5 when it drops. no one in that circle is really interested at all in that game. you can have OTHER circles that you can share games with. You CANNOT have the same game in multiple circles, however. So if you put Halo 5 in one, it cannot be in another unless you remove it from that circle. No word on how many circles you can have, however.
5. The trade-off with this system, as I know a lot of people on GAF were saying there HAD to be one, is already known. It's the 24-hour check. In order to make sure that this system isn't exploitable, they needed a way to ensure that games weren't being passed around physically to be pirated/exploited. So that's the trade-off, to get this type of sharing system between friends/family and keep devs/pubs happy.
There were other things, but I got stuck in traffic and this is all that I one-noted. If I explained something in a way that you don't get, I'll try to rephrase it for you. I'm paraphrasing most of this because our conversation was probably 20 minutes and I had to go through MULTIPLE scenarios and analogies to get exact info from him.
I'm still looking forward to Major Nelson laying it out in plain english, but there were some good tidbits. This is what the Microsoft stores are being trained with from the reps, so take that as you will.
Since 7519 DaysIf this critisism is told loud enough, the game industry will hear. So empower yourself and take a stance!

You might as well do the stupid QTE atleast you will be pressing buttons on the controller, not like if the game has anything but that. 3-4 hits QTE...rinse and repeat.
