Titanfall look great. The game looks like is a ton of fun. What I will like to know if the AI and bots will be used only on singleplayer/co-op or are they also going to be on multiplayer because that will worry me a bit.

Edit: Is there a way to download that video on 1080p on IGN?

Umm I though the game has some singleplayer/co-op stuff.

Oh well I hope those bots don't ruin the game experience.

I'd say they borrow equally. Which is natural since COD lead the charge this generation. 4 looks to continue the trend too.

No. They really did not. And no, it really does not. I can get into details if you really want me to break it down for you, although I'm fairly certain I already have.

That is not the impression I have. I believe they're dressing up multiplayer to look a bit more like single player.

Well I hope they are just for decoration because bots can kill multiplayer easily. I guess we will have to wait to see how everything comes together.

It's an issue I'm following closely. Here's a few quotes from devs on the subject:
The AI you've seen so far are their own class on the battlefield and are far less deadly than an enemy Pilot. They have their own behaviors that change depending on the game mode, such as guiding players to objectives, in addition to the other things they do.
Currently, killing AI does not count towards game score, and AI cannot score for their team with kills. We've experimented with this in the past, and may do so again, but it didn't really play favorably.
I'm still a little concerned with the super quick TTK. That might be a bigger deal to me.

It is at its heart a versus multiplayer FPS. If the window dressing is enough to get some people to dip their toes in the pool.. neat.

Riiiight, so Halo 4 is more like COD than BF3 is. I'll note that down.

I'm with Grimm and Sabao on being sad to lose some of those features. Hopefully they will work them back in. I'm hoping they bump it up to combat the price gap- gotta love competition. I'm just glad I don't have to hear about it anymore, lol. Congratulations to those who won their war. I really mean that. It's IS nice to see evidence of the consumer power that everyone seems to think is gone.

On a more fun note- TITANFALL!! I think of the bots as being environmental Hazards, lol. I do hope it doesn't get too COD-ey, but it looks like a blast. This, WatchDogs, Forza, Witcher, the Division, Quantum Break, Second Son, BF4...This is a hell of a beginnning to a generation!!

Yes. Or we are just looking at different things.

The closest thing to Call of Duty in Battlefield 3 is Close Quarters. It is quite clearly a rip-off of Call of Duty's domination game-type and level design. And it's good. What DICE took from Call of Duty was either small in scale or good by design. What 343 took from Call of Duty were kill-streaks and an extraordinary emphasis on individual gameplay. And a really fucked up perk system too. The core mechanics may still (loosely) resemble Halo, but the entire design philosophy is very Call of Duty. This is not true in Battlefield, where many of the comparisons are actually superficial.

If you're on about tighter infantry/armor level design, that stuff started co-opting Battlefield before Battlefield 3. And there's so much more than that in the game. There's a greater variety present in Battlefield 3 than any other current gen shooter. Maybe Planetside 2.. but Call of Duty is a Michael Bay infused Counter Strike wannabe at its core. Battlefield 3 is kinda like a greatest hits record. Which is as much a criticism as it is a complement. Anyway...

343 is (much) worse than modern Infinity Ward. They're like Danger Close with a better starting point.

Speaking of which: I hear Battlefield 4 might steal search and destroy. See it's cool when they take the right stuff :D

I was also a bit upset because of the loss of family-sharing....

...UNTIL I read THIS:
http://www.heyuguysgaming.com/news/12507/heartbrok...

It is from a blog of a MS empleyee who is disappointed about MS decision to change their DRM policies.

Here is the intersting part:
Posté par someMSemployee
The premise is simple and elegant, when you buy your games for Xbox One, you can set any of them to be part of your shared library. Anyone who you deem to be family had access to these games regardless of where they are in the world. There was never any catch to that, they didn’t have to share the same billing address or physical address it could be anyone. When your family member accesses any of your games, they’re placed into a special demo mode. This demo mode in most cases would be the full game with a 15-45 minute timer and in some cases an hour. This allowed the person to play the game, get familiar with it then make a purchase if they wanted to. When the time limit was up they would automatically be prompted to the Marketplace so that they may order it if liked the game.
What a joke! The whole feature was nothing more than beeing able to share your games as demos, to increase sales.

Those sneaky dickheads. Only talk about the good parts of their features. Imagine that they would have revealed this fact a month or so prior to release... the shit-storms would have been shit-tsunamis!

People will argue back and forth on this issue forever. I think it's important to note that we will never know the reality of family sharing as planned. One way or the other.

And also because of that, it's a non-story without more concrete information.

TEH TRUTH IS OUT THERE!

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=6518262... about family sharing

So basically its like a full game trial to 60 mins like PS+ is doing on PS3 right now, so it was never a proper free full game. If thats the case, its nothing compared to PS3's game sharing, even if its a exploit.
Full free game up to 10 people was way too good to be true.

the xbox one game sharing thing was real. it was not demos. they had arrangements with publishers in place.
Also, 10 people at once were never going to be able to play games simultaneously that belong to a single person. Just the original owner and one individual at a time from the list of friends/family you shared with.

I don't agree completely with that. Halo has always had an emphasis on individual gameplay, a players 30 seconds if you will and how that will make a large impact in a given team game. Bungie always described multiplayer as simply another context for that half minute. If you got an overkill, or a double kill and grabbed the flag, or even picked someone up in the right place at the right time that matters in terms of the outcome of the match. In COD, almost all that matters is your K/D ratio regardless of the game type.

It's fair to say in retrofitting some of COD to Halo in terms of a progression system, lite-classes and killstreaks they've lost something insofar as they are all extrinsic motivators for doing something useful in a game whereas I think they need to refocus on the intrinsic and just make play Halo for Halo's sake fun again. Like you say, it's borrowing the wrong things.
