But it really doesn't work out in the climate of the market today. Even the really good jRPGs kinda get swept under the rug now, because the genre is in such decline. Persona 4 has just barely sold over a million copies with the vita re-release included and doesn't that just say it all?

I mean it will add so much price. kinect itself these days is 100$ which is still too expensive so Kinect2 with HD resolution obviously will add more price to the console. Also what makes them think that people need it or even if they get it have to use it. There should not be any reason for it to be on. Do they really think people will spend all day or night in a couch with chips and mountain dew swapping between sports, tv and games with Kinect2. When did pressing a button become so complicated anyways.
Talking about giving options, proprietary HDD is not a good idea at all.
Microsoft are in big problem this time with PS4 releasing on same time frame and Sony learning from their mistakes this gen. Microsoft target audience is different to Sony and Nintendo.
Do not watch angry joe. He is a pro 360 guy but I thought his reaction was genuine. Nice video rant.

Inscrit depuis 5765 JoursEssentially, Microsoft has increased the number of force feedback motors in the Xbox One controller, allowing for more subtle rumble in localised parts of the pad. In one FPS-style demo we played, a virtual hand held out a pistol. Firing the pistol with the controller's right trigger resulted in simulated recoil occurring on just that part of the controller.
In another demo, which had the same virtual hand magically spawn a fire ball, we could 'feel' the explosive projectile explode from the centre of the controller and out towards your fingers. It was an impressive effect.
Other demos better showed off the feature's application as a gameplay enhancement. One allowed us to start the engine of a supercar with the Y button, causing the Xbox One controller to cough and splutter realistically as the virtual engine sparked to life
In another section showing a close up of the vehicle's wheels, the controller pulsed to simulated bumps in the road surface, and then violently clanged as the anti-lock breaks kicked in.
Finally, a simple demo featuring a human figure caused the controller to simulate a heartbeat, directly on the corresponding spot of the pad on the top right hand corner. It's been suggested the subtlety of Xbox One's force feedback could be used to find secrets of even indicate the direction of enemy fire in next-gen games.
Every journalist we spoke to at Microsoft's Redmond event agreed; the Xbox One controller feels like a big improvement over its 360 predecessor.
In comfort, the pad's handles feel more angular and better defined, screw holes and seam lines have been removed and the 360's bulky battery pack has been rotated 90 degrees and absorbed inside the controller. The latter means the Xbox One pad feels lighter, with weight better distributed across the peripheral.
From a functionality perspective, fans will be pleased to hear that the much-criticised d-pad of the current console has been redesigned and now feels tighter and more accurate with buttons presses rewarded with a satisfying click. The analogue sticks too have had their dead zones minimised significantly, says Microsoft.

sticking to a robbing xbla strategy
keep on ripping the consumer off by forcing publishers to charge for dlc (you aware they charge publishers if they give stuff away)

I do not think DRM is a big deal for too many people, me included. I get game late. It is easy to find games at 30$ or less. Launch day + DLC, season pass comes to 100$ which IMO is bigger problem, ridiculous. DLC annoys me so much. But even if you buy a game 1 year late with all DLC it is very cheap

Inscrit depuis 7450 JoursAs for Microsoft, I really think that in their zeal for casuals and mediaphiles, they underestimated gamers' willingness to pay a little more for a dedicated gaming machine. They really should have gone with a 2 SKU strategy, they could have targeted each demographic accordingly and made a killing off both. The All-In-One approach contains more risks, the console contains too many things that other demographic doesn't want or need.
If I get an Xbox One I won't be hooking it up to my set-top, the damn thing doesn't even record any programming. So right there, all of those multi-functions that they stressed last week are worthless to me. Why should I allow MS to gauge how much television I'm watching, what are the benefits to having voice and gesture if I can't tell it "record?"
It all comes down to E3 now.

Now this really didn't bother me because I'm actually playing Defiance right now and while it could be alot better it's still a fair to good experience that doesn't let the show interfere with the game. But still if you add that with the Halo series, you see Microsoft's TV theme continuing to play itself out. lol
Now the "Forward unto Dawn" shorts were fabulous, so if Spielberg is taking things in that episodic direction then I think we could have alot of fun with this. But I would be lying if I didn't mention that I wasn't a little concerned with Microsoft's obvious focus on television. You see when you throw a figure out there like "MS spending $1Billion on games", these tv meets video games series might also be in that budget. You guys feel me?
So we now know WHY gamers would earn achievements for watching television. Watch the series, play the game, earn achievements. At the very least, I can actually say Quantum Break is the first next gen game I'm interested in.
