Stillwater says Merry Christmas!

We here on Xboxyde do of course also hope you'll have a great holiday, but this time it's Volition that gives you a treat. Silver members can, starting today, download the Ho Ho Ho DLC Pack to pimp up their Saint's Row character with some holiday spirit. It has been out for Gold member a couple of days now, but everyone should check out the awesome christmas screens inside.

Saint's Row images

THQ released these images of Saint's Row, which will be released next friday. Who could have known we would get two great free-roams during one month? The big questions is: Which game will you buy, or will it even be both? I'm probably going for both, cause they both played damn fine.

6 images of Saints Row

We almost forgot to tell you about these six new screenshots of Saints Row, released earlier this week. You'll be glad to know it is now fixed !

Saints Row preview: Last video

Let's be done with this preview of Saints Row with a last video showing the insurance fraud activity, and the escort one. Viewer discretion advised for this video :)

Saints Row preview: Another video

It seems like you guys enjoyed my first 2 videos of this preview of Saints Row even with my terrible aiming, so here is more. This time you'll see how not to hijack a truck, and the how easy it is to use it to break a few cars on the highway. More videos tomorrow with a few more activities, especially the hilarious "assurance fraud" mode.

Saints Row preview: Second video

Here is the second video of Saints Row already, this time showing some street racing and a rather violent mission. I can't say I've ever been a big fan of GTA like games, but I'm having a lot of fun with this preview of Saint's Row. If the technical issues are corrected in the final build, this could be one of the major 360 game for this year.

Saints Row preview: First video

THQ sent me a preview version of Saints Row last week. This version is quite complete, but of course buggy and the framerate can be quite bad at times. The final version is said to be very smooth, and I sure hope it will be. Here is a first video, showing the city by night, the hostage mode, and my beautiful ingame character. I'm sure you are all jealous of his hairs. Anyway, please keep in mind that the framerate is said to be much better in the final build.

Saint's Row demo: Day 2

After the first day of low resolution videos, here are finally some HQ (and some of them exclusive) videos from the great hEcToR2k6. Including a map tour showing most of the demo city, and a 10 minute video showing some cool stuff to do plus another video. RaR1tY also sent us this great 20 minute video, for you who can't get enough of this game. They are using the custom soundtrack feature, so some of the songs aren't in the game.

Saints Row images & trailer

While the other Saint's Row-news article will be used for user videos from the demo (with alot more to come), this will contain some official stuff. Here are 16 images and a hopefully new trailer from Saint's Row.
Update: Some 3D images added.

30 minutes with the Saints Row demo

I've just been sent this more than 30 minutes long video of Saint's Row, by Goldfingiz from the GameFAQ boards. This is certainly the best way to finally get a better idea of what this game is all about, and how well it plays. If the framerate gets a bit better in the final version, we should have here a very nice GTA clone.
Update: 10 minute cop video added, thanks again to Goldfingiz.
Update #2: Thanks to hEcToR2k6, here are another 10 minutes. The awesome "violence" video really shows what can happen in the game.

What's up?
  • blmbox
blmbox Yeah, but judging by the content of both reviews, Eurogamer didn't particularly care much for the game anyway. They probably only gave it an 8 to avoid controversy - the review sounded more like a 6. (2 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX 6 to 8 split on Eurogamer, which isn't quite as large but still pretty significant. (3 Hours ago)
  • SimonM7
SimonM7 Yeah sure, but from what console reviews are saying it's perfectly adequate. I mean I'm sure PC is the way to go, but I sincerely doubt we're seeing a 5 to 9 split score wise or anything. (3 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX not that the Xbox version is "that bad" by most accounts either.. there are plenty of people here playing it who adore it.. but the PC game is recieving higher marks across the board (3 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX @SimonM7: I doubt that's true too, if other reviews I've read are any indication. The game was designed around an interface that's not represented on the Xbox.. (3 Hours ago)
  • SimonM7
SimonM7 I doubt PC and 360 scores would differ much in EDGE, they simply don't fancy it. DA on the 360 is fine as long as you like the underlying game. (4 Hours ago)
  • callmekymbo
callmekymbo is DA on the 360 really that bad? I can't run it on my pc so the eggbox is my only viable alternative (4 Hours ago)
